Installed TB Spacer...Dont make the mistake I did

I just installed my TB spacer about 30 minutes ago. Thanks Excelerate!! Anyway just thought I'd let you know one mistake I made so you dont do the same. After I completely installed the spacer (bolts tightened and everthing ), I realized that one of the gaskets I installed was on backwards. (The white heat gaskets that come with the spacer.) I made sure the indentions were all facing up like the video but didnt realize that it was possible to put them on backwards. After I got it all together I realized I needed to turn one of them around. Pretty minor to fix but it did add a lot more time. Other than that it went together like a breeze!

Ahem .... :cough: :clearsthroat:

.... - Play with the Spacer and Gaskets a little when you get them. They are not symmetrical; the thermo gaskets only fit properly one way, they have a "front" and a "back". Just make sure the bolt holes and the notch all line up.

Damnit, so I installed this morning, and I turned on the engine before attaching a hose back onto the intake. Car was revving awkwardly so I shut off, checked, and slapped myself in the head. I connected everything back and double checked this time, and the car still has the CHECK ENGINE light on. Is this going to go away?

Disconnect the battery for a few min. then reconnect. If everything is ok, it will go away.

There is an easier way to get rid of the CEL and you dont have to enter your codes after. Simpley pull the ECU fuse for 5 -10 seconds. Does the same thing, but doesnt cut power to the radio.

Not sure, I just got my car a month ago and havent even begun to check that stuff out. I would assume its in the engine bay, but look in the owners manual, and there should be a break down of where all the fuses are.

You have to pull the backup ECU fuse as well. It's all diagrammed on the inside of the fuse box cover.

i don't know if this will help, but when i installed my cold air intake, it threw the check engine light. this bothered me at first, i then took it for a drive and had an idea.

i got onto the freeway on-ramp and cracked v-tec.

check engine light gone.

the end.

Problem resolved, the CEL went away after 15 miles of driving.
