Installed exhaust and can hear whistling from tips at certain RPMs with load
Hello!
I recently installed a couple Magnaflow mufflers with some aftermarket tips.
I love how the sound came out but there are certain moments under load that you can hear the tips whistling.
Read online and it says it might be a leak where the tips where soldered to the muffler.
At idle you cannot hear it, its only under heavy acceleration.
Other than a leak could it be the design of the tip causing it to whistle?
Anyone had something similar happen?

Thanks! Planning a visit again on Friday!
Yeah I know its long! Just wanted a couple angles and inside and out. Almost all vids I saw online were a couple outside and not under load or cruising.
Fast forward to 3:50 and you will have a hard pull where it has that loud whistle!

Just to close out, took back to the Shop, they said the tips design make them sound like that.
Initially had a felling it was that.. doesn't bother me, just wanted to make sure, thanks for the suggestions!

It must be the split it has right in front of the entrance, probably can take some material off with a dremel and might take care of it if it becomes too annoying..

Thats why my first instinct was to take back to the installer but I also checked online and a couple people mention they do have that sound. No biggie!

If you don't smell anything unusually from under the car, it may be just a tip like the shop guy says, but I would double check for leak if I were you.

Any suggestions on how to check? I had a friend suggest wrapping paper towel around where the leak was suspected, taping it up to maintain in place and run the car in idle a couple minutes.
Any carbon marks on the paper towel would indicate a leak..

Nothing smelling unusual, drove up to Daytona and back and nothing weird. And all the sound concentrates on the tips not under the car kind of like pointing to the tips and not where the mufflers meet the exhaust piping.
