This hesitation, is it well known or do you think it may be your particular car?

Is that bad for ur Tranny by doing that ?

It builds heat but won't hurt a thing unless you do it for too long. Anything less than 10 seconds won't hurt it.

However, the TL seems to be faster by just stomping the gas to the floor without preloading the convertor.

I'll test mine again, IHC. never had a lick of tranny trouble nor reason to think there ever was.

stabbing the throttle does seem to be the fastest but you have to factor in a little extra reaction time for releasing the brake and then throttling. wish the stupid e-brake worked better...i hate useless e-brake's.

One foot on the brake, and the other foot on the throttle. When the light goes green, simutanously one foot goes up while other foot goes down. That is how I have done it for decades.

totally. I was speaking on 1/4 mile strips and the light tree. I was having to cheat a little before the green to get a good launch
