My father-in-law started an HHO project, the biggest obstacle I saw was the delivery, or lack there of. At idle you will have your maximum amount off HHO injected into the cylinders. Once you start to accelerate there is a large decrease in the amount of HHO that is delivered to the cylinders in relation to the flow of the intake charge. The electrolysis machine will only deliver so much and there is no way to bank the HHO and vary the amount that is entering.

As the engine accelerates, the curve of the HHO should follow the curve of the amount of fuel that is needed. The HHO would, for the lack of a better term, lean out. Those not producing the same amount of efficiency that it did at idle.

To me, this and the acetone both have one major benefit, they knock the crude loose. Once they do this, your gain is due to the clean internals. Never seemed like a good idea on a newer car.

If you could produce enough of the HHO, it may be viable on a diesel application, but again, it would take quite a bit to function on a forced induction vehicle, and you can not produce enough of it to do it.

This is my for what it is worth.
