AEM or FUJITA. AEM is the most popular on these forums.

PM me if you need one.

You didnt even get any responces about sound....

Anyways unless you already bought the AEM CAI. The Fujita F5 CAI's sound has been described by a member on the boards here as "a wolf getting f***ed in the ass". Ive got one, its deep and mean, you'll def hear is after 3500RPM.

Here is a quick vid of me getting on a highway with Fujita CAI.

Hope that helps.

I've installed both AEM and Fujita, AEM on a M/T and the Fujita on my A/T, i've actually written a really long write up about this about half a year ago,
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159129

i loved both, but the AEM definitely is one you will notice idle and the Fujita is one you will want to be on the highway with moonroof open

If you want sound, intake is not the way to go, get an exhaust!!!!

AEM is the preferred, but I guess as others have said Fujita will give you that "growl" you lookin for.

I have stage 3 exhaust on my car...and truthfully my CAI is louder than the exhaust at the top of the RPM range.

Ha, i couldnt remember who it was that said it, and i didnt think a search for "wolf getting f***ked in the ass" would have any results!
Also the CAI roar is hard to get with all the wind noise from windows being down. Guess if i really wanted to put out the effort to capture it i could put the camera on the floor next to the pedals since the filter is just on the other side of the wheel well.

I wasn't talking about mod's to the current system I'm talking about a Greddy or ATLP exhaust, and then you get that sound.

I was SHOCKED at how loud the AEM is. It made even low rpm heavy throttle REALLY loud.

The K&N is much quieter at low/medium rpm. Only there when you need it.

Some local shop out here says they don't make AEM CAI for the 3g type s... Isn't it the same as the 3g non type s?

I don't think anyone is advertising for the '07 TL or TL-S because they haven't been CARB certified. They probably won't EVER be since 4G will soon be out in the market. I used the K&N off my '05, and works fine.

Fujita will be quieter due to higher thickness aluminum.

To be honest..........I don't think there is an ACTUAL APPLICATION/PART # for the 07-08 TL Type S...............from Fujita OR AEM OR K&N (FIPK)

I think most people are just making the non-type S ones work...........but these are NOT tuned for the 3.5L engine. This is why I haven't bought one yet............not sure if this part will actually provide a positive (+) HP return.

I AM SURE IT IS A GREAT NOISE MAKER.........but for $240 - $300 and not make HP?

I am NOT trying to be NEGATIVE or STEAL SALES from Excelerate.........but that my .

tuned for the 3.5l? that is a new one... so it will add .0013hp... OOOOOh and .0000009lbs tq....

04-08 tl-p or tl-s... THE SAME THING.... different front and rear and a whole bunch of stickers is the only difference... oh and there is the .3liter increase with "higher flowing" exhaust

Stillhere:
I think you missed my point.
I was simply saying that according the the AEM, FUJITA, & K&N websites...............there isn't a PART # for the 07-08 TL Type S with the 3.5L engine.

I DID sent Fujita an email asking them about this..........you can do the same if you like.........but I will save you the trouble:

In a "nut shell" Fujita said, "At this time we DO NOT have a CAI that fits your vehicle, we are in need of a test vehicle but have not been able to get one to use for testing to develop a CAI for the Type S".

So, my point is this...........these CAI's MIGHT WORK FINE............but these CAI's ARE NOT made specifically for the 3.5L engine. There could be MORE gains acheived with a correctly engineered CAI. That's all.

These are vehicle/engine specific mods..........not universal.........agree?

Seriously, once they "approve" one for the Type S, I doubt it will be any different than the current model for the 3.2

You may be right, BUT IF THEY DO................ and you have a 07-08 Type S, you will want THAT one, right?

I am going to wait a little bit, then decide on my CAI. Hopefully, Fujita will make one for the Type S...........in that new SICK COLOR : Championship Bronze!!!!!

I dunno, I'm kind of impatient about things like that and if I did have the Type S, I'd go crazy waiting and probably just buy the current one! But that's just me and hell I don't even own the Type S anyway.

personally I think that any change in gains related to a newly tweaked intake for the 3.5 vs 3.2 would be very negligable. I mean come on, its a 3'' diameter pipe with a very spcific set of bends and other then reducing the pipe length or bend by +/- 3 degrees to fit the larger engine theres not much you can do. Just buy it and be happy!

Aem 3.2 intake part number on their website iss tated to be same application for 3.5...

Engine isn't a different size... Same size displacement is different

Fujita filters is where the key is.... Aem ram is where it's at...
