I would say just trade it in, atleast when you trade it in you will get the brembo brakes and a larger rear sway bar, you will probably spend the same amount of money and have and get more then just a 6-speed

I was in that exact same situation a couple months ago...I had a '04 TL AT and it ended I trade the car at the dealer for a MT and a couple of thousands less in the bank...I mean like 4-5 g's here. At the end is it worth it?...well I love performance and I knew the AT was eating all the potential of the J32..the difference between the AT and MT is almost a full second in a quarter mile race...

i was just curious because i happen to have a used 3G TL 6MT tranny sitting in my garage. i have absolutely no need for it and was going to throw it away since i figured no one in their right mind would be willing to do such a swap or pay the money for it... hmm...perhaps i should just hold onto it. i dunno. anyways, thanks for the insight guys!

Forget the two power adders. Build it right, run a larger blower and push 15psi for the same power you would have with 8lbs+ nitrous. Much easier to tune and safer that way. Besides, you don't want methanol and nitrous together.

The 6MT cars are more than just a transmission difference. Suspension is tuned tighter (closer to Type-S), and you get the Brembos, too.
Overall, it makes no sense financially, since the desired model exists on the open market. I mean, I did an auto-to-manual conversion in my 1980 Z28, but I went from a 3spd auto to a 6spd manual- there was lots to be gained (8mpg highway, to be exact), not to mention the combo never existed from the factory.

All I can say now, performance wise, the AT and MT are in a different league. For me, with the MT, its perfect now.
