"The Expandable Gauge System (EGS) aims to provide the driver with all the information he/she could ever want in a
single - aesthetically awesome - gauge. Along with the shift lights and massive rev counter, the high resolution LCD is
used to display coolant temperatures, digital rev counter, performance graphs and even accelerometer data, etc."

Sounds interesting. I haven't heard anybody putting this on their TL on this forum ..

i think that device is overpriced...it may look cool on a riced out car with a huge speedo....but NOT on a TL....
if u want to read sensors value off your car, u should consider the "scangauge"..it's only $170US.....i'm thinking of purchasing it in the summer before heading to the track....

it seems all u need is to plug it into ur OBDII port....and this thing is not too flashy like the gtech...good to place it on the steering column...

Had a Gtech pro RR when I had my 96 accord H22. It was fun, but I never got a really accurate eval of it. Plus, the tach signal kept dropping. I think it was due to a faulty alternator wire now, but didn't know it at the time. I think the Scanguage is about 100 times better than the Gtech RR though. I'm ordering one soon.

That's funny about father Guido Sarducci, I have actually heard that before about my accent. The compression of the video for the web really killed the quality of the sound. That was me doing the preliminary voiceover for the new TV spot for the EGS product line. I am the owner of TESLA Electronics Inc.

Thanks for the comments and concerns about the new EGS. Your opinions are very important to me. Here are a few things I can share with you regarding the new EGS.

EGS is smaller than big 5" tachs we all know. We chose a non-standard size in order to maintain the proportions of the digital display and analog aspects of this gauge. EGS is 4" in diameter. This also makes it easier to install in newer vehicles.

EGS can be as "flashy" or not as you want it to be. You can modify the intensity and the color of the display any way you like.

While Scangauge seems like a nice product EGS is a completely different animal.
OBDII scanning is only one aspect of EGS functionality. EGS is a full blown data-logger with real-time replay capability and a graphics display. You can attach any sensor to the EGS not to mention the Wideband Air/Fuel ratio sensors. It's made out of aluminum and rubber instead of plastic and is intended for serious track use as well as everyday street driving.

We have tried to make the EGS system as affordable as possible considering it's build quality and technology involved. It's a "build it as you go" type of product making it easier to get into, hopefully.

Thanks for your interest and please ask me any questions you might have.

Nice, we get the full insight, I am actuall leaning towards the rr, since all I really need are 0 to 60 times and the quartermile

But since the egs does do obdii scanning with a couple more options than the egs it may be worth the chance to take a look at, I definitely like the fact that you have a window mount for it because I am not about to drill a hole in my pillar hehehe

Actually, it sounds to me that all you need is an SS, save yourself a hundred bucks, because you don't need downloading or other Road Racing features. Also SS is easier to use than RR.
I think I need to clarify one thing, EGS is not a performance meter, it will not give you measurements like the SS and the RR. EGS is gauge like any other it just has a great deal of expandability and options.
SS and RR are Performance Meters, they have built-in accelerometers and capabilities to do calculations and make derived measurements like HP, TQ, 1/4mile etc. Thanks.

In that case the RR is the answer.

With PASS software you can compare up to 4 runs or 2 road racing sessions. Thanks.

I don't know the scangauge screen is kind of boogy, and the info it gives I rather get on gauges which are more accurate, as Javo M stated, the readings are from the ecu only
