I'm still trying to work out all the details with the test pipe since my rep isn't in today but I can tell you this: Starting tomorrow night (and ending this weekend) we are going to offer free shipping on orders over $500 so for those of you who want the j-pipe and any other part, including the test pipe, tomorrow would be the best bet to order. This will allow you to get pretty much the same pricing as the GB and not wait weeks to have the parts shipped.

For those of us who don't want the test pipe, can you set up the web site to be able to just purchase the jpipe right now for $390 shipped? Another words for those of us who don't want to wait for the group buy to end that just want to get in on the free shipping. Is this possible?

but aren't we looking for 380/390 shipped? so what advantage would free shipping on the test pipe be?

We can certainly do the GB and the $380 shipped price on the j-pipe if we get 20 paid orders. However, generally a few don't commit so the $390 price might be more reasonable. Also, it will take at least 4 weeks to finish all the j-pipe orders (the GB orders would have to wait for a production run in order to get the discounted price) whereas those who order with the sale will have their j-pipe shipped out right away. With the sale coming up tonight you can get free shipping on orders over $500. So if you ordered a j-pipe and test pipe you would get free shipping making the price pretty close (j-pipe would be $400 shipped).

You can take advantage of the free shipping sale on the website at http://store.excelerateperformance.com (over $500 gets free shipping so you would need to order the j-pipe and something else).

Otherwise keep your name on the list and send payment via paypal to excelerate@sbcglobal.net and please specify what you're ordering. Payment of $390 must be made for the j-pipe alone and $505 for the j-pipe and test pipe combination.

I am interested in the group buy, but is there a definite date we would get the J pipe? I don't want to tie up $390.00 for a couple of months (ormore) "waiting for a production run".

I'ld be happy to sign up (and pay) for the group buy IF there was a definitive delivery date OR I could pay when the J pipe shipped, but I have participated in GB's before and waited months beyond the original expected delivery date only to have the delivery date slip time after time. I really would like to have one of the XLR8 J pipes. Anyone have a used XLR8 J pipe they might want to sell?

I should have thought of that before I paid the money.
I think it's a dis-service if we setup a group buy and they make you wait months.
The group buy is work that WE do to try to get them more business in a higher volume, business that would rather otherwise have might not been there.
It's more of a dis-service if the group buy not only is not that good of a discount and there's a "sale" that's just as great as the group buy the week of the group buy.
I'm tempted to be over spending 500 bucks if I'm going to have to wait. If I wait, I can wait and find one on the BM for cheaper.

On that note, Josh/XLR8 please refund me Paypal transaction #9BB78835X6119730W
I don't want to wait forever for these items. Especially at the cost of $505 that I'm out for.
Thanks.

I agree with the sentiments being voiced. However, I wish to voice an alternate viewpoint.

Just from observing other group buys (from my perspective), it is typical for any group buy from any vendor to have a long waiting period before the orders are delivered. This is the primary reason that I never participate in group buys from any vendor.

I'm the same way, (quote) now at least...
I think your experience is proving you right.
I've been a long time reader, short time contributor to this forum and I have never participated in group buys. It's strictly my fault for not asking the question before blindly throwing money at a paypal address, lol.
I guess I know better now eh...

I decided not to purchase because of how long this could take (and I had to pay for bills/rent). I'm unfamilar with Josh's XLR8 GB and should've been more informed. Nonetheless, that is his policy and how he does the GB, sorry for not making this clear, and not joining in on this.

Hope all goes well, I think the reason being for the delayed time, is that Josh's company is a "small business" unlike Tim @ HondaAcuraWorld.com where he can just post a link and than buy away!

I think people are confused as to the nature of a Groupbuy. A groupbuy means people buy a part in bulk and generally have to wait longer in order to get a better price. In order to get the j-pipes for $390 shipped I have to work out a deal with the fabricator and order 10 at a time. These take time to build so to be safe I'm saying 4 weeks from the end date for payment. These aren't just sitting on the fabricators shelves; they take time to fabricate. And to reduce the price by about $40 or so (generally $400 plus shipping which ranges from $25-$45 due to the box being oversized) I need orders in quantity. And unfortunately, you have to sacrifice time in order to get that. That is how the majority of GB's work.

If people don't want to wait they should have taken advantage of the holiday sale where we gave free shipping on orders over $500. For those of you who want to order the j-pipe and something else to get free shipping we will set up a free shipping sale on orders over $500 again. So a test pipe and j-pipe combo would be $525 shipped and a j-pipe and UR pulley combo would be $600 shipped or a j-pipe and P2R TB package combo would be $510 shipped, etc. Just PM me the details of what you want and I'll put something together for you.

What I think everyone thought is your had everything in inventory. Though most GB take awhile to get their product, GB on AcuraZine are put your name on the list and buy and the item is shipped within a week. Thats why your GB XLR8 exhaust had so many questions and confusion because of it.

If I buy 2 J Pipes, would that qualify for the Christmas "free shipping" special?

Do you have 2 J pipes in stock ready to ship?
