Question Greddy, or Comptech?

I've been wanting an exhaust system for my 05 TL 5AT for a while and it's come down to the Greddy Evo 2 or the Comptech TL exhaust. I'm going for performance. They're both about the same price wise, but I don't know about performance. Any opinions or advice as to which I should get? Appreciate it.

Comptech = $1000
Greddy is about = $750

Greddy is louder, probably will yield about 1 more hp, because no resonator, or mid-muffler

Comptech has a mid-muffler.... so there is fairly NO DRONE inside the cabin

Yeah the CT is pretty quiet whereas the Greddy is pretty loud. It all depends on what you want. Also, the Greddy has huge canisters and the CT tips are much more subtle.

Greddy ftw! You want performance right? The Greddy is for you! If you don't care about the aggressively loud drone, the Greddy is for you! If you want looks that are mean instead of mild, the Greddy is for you!

Did I mention Greddy FTW!

yea, i love my ATLP, which is similar to Greddy & XLR8 (un-res-version)

but i miss the comptech sometimes.. it had beautiful polished cans, subtle "zipp" sound to it, and absolutely NO DRONE.... of course, it yieled about 7whp, where as ATLP is around 11whp

Performance from a catback exhaust....c'mon people. They're all the same....one isn't going to get you more noticeable HP than the other You won't feel 1whp on a 3,500+ sedan, thats for damn sure.

Heres my Comptech revving to 5k?

Greddy cans are way too big for me...

Its all about your noise tolerance aswell as ur future mods

If jpipe and 3rd cat delete are on your radar go with the greddy

But if you plan on getting precat deletes, either a resonated exhaust or cutup the greddy and add a resonator

^^ +1

i couldnt have said it better myself. greddy cans are a bit to big for my taste too. the comptechs have a certain tone, that the others dont have either. your car sounds great btw.

heres a sound clip of my comptechs on the dyno. you can hear it better on the 2nd run. it was taken from the rear at WOT

You guys come on; with your quiet exhaust notes and your little oval cans!

That's the sound of power right there!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VA7uDgdy5k

So the can are big. I thought the same thing looking at all the pics, until I saw it in person on my car. It looks great to me. Also if you look at the piping compared to your exhaust, you know which one flows better! I reiterate GREDDY FTW!!!

I think you will find most ppl are going to recommend the exhaust they have on the car. It's a natural instinct to want to reaffirm your purchase.

The Comptech exhaust might make a few less hp than the XLR8 or ATLP but it will be difficult to notice 3 whp as was stated. You have to decide what is most important to you: sound, power, fitment, finish, price.

That was before the feel of the extra power took over. Due to replacing my test pipe for the 3rd procat, the sound is tolerable now.

I have to agree here. The Comptech/Excelerate resonated are both killer. I went back and forth before deciding on the Excelerate resonated, which I think is slightly louder than Comptech due to the smaller resonator. They both look really good when the cans are nice and clean, because you see a nice shiny background behind the tips. IMO, a couple extra horsepower aren't worth excessive drone or an obnoxiously loud tone. As I've said before, you can gain 2-3 whp by switching to synthetic oil, or if you're fat, losing 25 pounds will have the same effect.

to me anx1300c's vid sounds way more tight with a deeper tone.

ifirahse, yours is just rediculous. please put mufflers on asap. the thing sounds like my neighbors baja bug.

sorry adrian, i beg to differ

my exhaust note has changed since that dyno you see a year ago.

this is my setup now,

1. hollowed out primary procats
2. ATLP jpipe
3. 3rd procat (not hollowed)
4. 20' SS magnaflow resonator
5. and complete comptech catback still with mid-muffler

sounds alot more throaty now should have heard it before i installed the resonator 0_0

greddy and comptechs have a totally different tone IMO.
