I installed mine myself this weekend. It took me about 3 hours, with dinner in between. As for the sound, IMO there is not much difference.

Yeah, your right I am just lying that I put on a AEM intake. What a dumb a$$ statement.

I said IMO its not that much louder, at least not at idle, when u give it some gas I hear it, but I was worried that it was going to be something my wife (the one that drives the car 95% of the time) was going to hate and was going to want me replace because it was too loud. She didn't notice it so I am good to go.

it gets even louder with no intake. it's nice seeing your throttle body open up though.

with manual you can open up the throttle in any gear and hear the full range of the intake sound from low to a roar.. in an automatic, you open the throttle, you race the rpms'.. that's all i was sayin..

lately I've been driving with my windows open and I can tell the vehicle is much louder when you really step on the gas...and as far as gains, I don't remember chirping second and third before as I was having fun this past weekned with a friend....and his 2005 Z ...nice car

ok...i got the intake installed - all i can say is WOW. i wasnt expecting this much sound improvement from the intake. it has a deep growl at lower rpms and has a notorious scream at vtec. The car is def faster - plain and simple, no argument.

I took before and after videos with my digi picture camera, ill post them up once someone gives me a site that would allow me to upload videos.

-BTW, the car is many times louder if ur outside the car. thats the way you will notice a gigantic diff in the sound - it travels much further and is much deeper. my cuzins heard my engines screaming 3 blocks away.

is it too loud ?

Also, more importantly, what about the difference in speed.. how much hp do you really get and can you feel the diff?

its not too loud...under normal driving there is no difference in sound. the difference comes during acceleration, it has such a sweet sound. the car def feels faster, rpms' go up faster and pulls harder at higher speeds, plus i get wheel spin in 2nd gear and chirp into 3rd.

there is a sweet sound when you shift, almsot sound like a mini bov.

im uploading before and after vids as i type...should have them up real soon

it sure does. as i said before, the car is def faster and drives more aggressive.

im going ot try to get one of my friends to record me from the outsidel i havent heard it yet, but my friends say it sounds very mean from the outside - they can tell im coming when im flooring it 3 blocks away. it gives the car a nice deep growl.

(BTW, it sounds louder in person) its perfect for this car, makes it sound much more aggressive and isnt ricey at all.
