Tomorrow nite is Gainesville Raceways test and tune night where they open the 1/4 mile track for the general public. Anyone in Fla. that can make the trip to Gainesville we will be there in a NBP 04 with grey rims and a SSM 04. Gates open at 6:30 and racing goes until 11pm.
This will be my first 1/4 mile runs in the TL as our local track has only an 1/8 mile(9.116 @ 78.89 personal best). I have done some mods plus i just bought nitto drags(for the front) that I am putting on before i go tomorrow.
Anything under 14sec will be just fine! I will try and post some pics thurs or friday for all to see.

I know-I know---this is a luxury car....but you would be suprised what it does beat-and racing is so much fun while you blast the trap at 100mph while using hands free link to give your buddies a play by play with XM 80 cranking! lol

All one needs is proper operating and safety features, no bald tires etc. Cars running under 14 secs require the driver to wear a helmet(they will let you borrow one). Our cars won't go under that time unless you have done mods so the helmet thing is not really an issue.
Last time i went it was an absolute blast!

Best quarter mile time was 14.258 and best speed was 98.95. I was shooting to go below 14 and I think with a few more runs and the right launch it may be possible. Anyway there was very strong honda presence there with a group of S2000's (15 secs runs??) plus the RSX guys and other Imports. Only saw one other TL there but did not see it run.
Camera broke on the way down so no photos this time-but I will be going back next weds.

PIERCE, I plan on stopping by friday after work...I need to see about getting my passenger side rear door pocket replaced or repaired...there's a small tear in the leather. I talked to a John Keester(?) in the service dept about this being a warranty issue...he said he'd have to take a look at it first and maybe he'll just order the part instead of getting it repaired, do you think I can get this replaced/repaired at no cost? I'll look around for you while I'm there...I wanna see what deal you can give me on A-spec wheels and bodykit..

I was there earlier. I had the desert mist acura (no mods). My times weren't as good as yours but I used this to get a baseline. I did 4 runs with a little less than a half tank of gas. I did two runs with auto and two runs with the sport shift. VSA was on and I didn't brake torque nor did I run through the water (burnout).

The runs after this slower. The 2nd run was 15.607 @ 92.29. The 3rd I used the sport shift and had a poor 15.925 time @ 90.46 mph. The last run was also sport shift with 15.845 @ 91.06 mph.

The next time I do this I'll do it without VSA and brake torque and compare the times.

The times suck but I had fun anyway since it was my first time and got a good baseline.

Maybe if I repaint my car black and take the baby seat out next time I can break 15 secs.

Well I think u pulled out as I was pulling in Pierce. I got there at 10pm and the damn track was closed because someone hit the wall. After paying 20$ to run and not getting to i was pretty pissed, but finally at 4 minutes till 11pm i got one run in. IT SUCKED!! >>16.1 I know the car is faster becuse i had a shitty run and the car did not redline with tthe sportshift on in first gear. Seems like the sportshift is really crap for the 1/4. Im just gonna put it in Drive and let it pound next week. BTW im running 20's with 225/35 Nittos and have a heavy system in the trunk. I know that will negate me a bit but 16.1 sux, I really think the shifting of the car sucks and isn't consistent. IMO it should be a dead-on readline when u have it in SS mode, if not why even put it there if Drive is faster? I did enjoy the looks of all the people thinking "are you really gonna race that car". I recorded the whole 6 minutes of runs everyone did before the track shutdown at 11pm and next week I'll get you on tape and if we can get them hosted it would be cool.

Man I did see you pull in as I was leaving-your car is white and you have neon right?? Sorry we missed each other.
You are right there was a crash and thats why we left then. A crazy tubbed out VEGA with parachute and a zillion horsepower got squirrely at mid track and hit both walls...he was ok though and the car wasn't completely smashed thank goodness. I am definately going again next week and maybe we can have a few more cars. I don't know if your schedule allows you to get there a little earlier but I got there at 7:30 and I was able to do 5 runs before 9:30.
I'll pm you early next week and we'll hook up there-ok..

As far as your times remember this:

VSA=Bad times at the track! turn it off.

I think leaving it in drive will probably be your best bet but I have a six-speed so you may want to ask others that have AT. If your boom is easily removeable i would take that out, plus your spare and make sure that you arrive there with somewhere between a quarter and half a tank of gas. You will want to lower your front wheel tire pressure too a little if you get much wheelspin on launch. Just a couple ideas to help your times out next week-thats what it is all about...getting a little faster each time is what makes it fun!

yo pierce! i live in the gainesville area. i actually use to race the track very often in my integra. but i am a proud owner of an 04 TL and have been thinking bout going back out there. when do you plan to go again?

I ran my car in Wisconsin Great Lakes Dragway. Best time was 15.4. My car is 2004 Automatic and has around 100k miles. It works better with triptronic instead of Drive position. Only concern is then launching with VSA off it still thinks about something before taking off.

P.S I FOLDED MY MIRRORS...OTHER THEIR LAUGHING THEIR ASS OFF.
