got the cold air in yesterday.. installed it last night
picked it up from ebay for 170 shipped

part number is MA -1006
instructions that came with it are or a 2003-2005 Acoord V6 (3.0L)

honestly i glanced at the instructions for about 10 secods and didnt even use them.

ive installed quite a few intakes on all sorts of cars before mainly honda/acura. so it was a breeze. first time ever on a TL/TL-S tho.

install took 2 hours from start to finish (with clean up). only because the stock intake box/ piping is a BITCH its huge and stuck into like small spaces and just a pain to meneuver out. bumper removal is a must which was very simple imo

what im surprised about is... how quiet the intake is. maybe its the car and the 300 lbs of sound deadning materials the car has? but i had an RSX Type S before the TL-S and i must say the RSX-S was a shitload louder (Injen CAI) something to do with the DOHC vs the SOHC i guess or the I-VTEC. i dunno
cruising speeds the sound is no louder than stock. when you get on it... even then it seems pretty quiet. only a small amount louder than stock with a deeper grunt, but noticeable sound variation when it switches to the vtec lobes.

with VSA off stock, in 2nd gear had only minor traction problems. with the intake 2nd gear now just spins (time for some better tires)

was it worth 170 bucks? Hell yea.
fujita claims i think 18whp on the AUTOMATIC TL 3.2L
i can see/feel the numbers they put up are pretty accurate.
def feels like i gained a good amount of power all across the rpm range.
overall the gains were very impressive.

only problem is.... the fog lights had to go.... the back of the fog light (plugs for the bulb) hit the intake filter, my bumper not to go on correctly because of this. i turned the intake adjusted it which ever way i could still didnt fit. so i made a decision, and the fog lights went. i never used them ever. they were ugly as hell when they were on anyway.

filter is way more exposed now and super airflow to the filter element

heres some pix nothing you havent seen before

oh and BTW ive been for about a week or 2 on the forum reading a lot. just never posted.

this is my fist post/thread.

You had to have done something very wrong because the foglight should have fit easily, at least it did on mine. You're really gonna ride around with one foglight and the other looking like that?

looks great Nick ...ya my friend has a rsx-s and he recommended the INJEN CAI for my TLS and it too is quite but once you hit 3000 and up rpms, that is LOUD!!....don't worry bout it being quite, it'll get louder the more you drive it.

The intake was made for the 7th gen Accord and it doesn't fit the TL the way it should. It fits the throttle body but pass that everything goes wrong. You should remove it and return it.

maybe i did install it wrong? but i moved it every way i could and it still hit.

and no i didnt take just 1 fog light out. hah i took both. im that big of a noob

what was the part number for your intake?

and for the loudness.. i dont really want it being any louder. im not a fan of loud anymore. thats why i got the TL... couldve gotten an S2K if i wanted to be loud again.. or kept the rsx. im gettiing too old i guess

your name sounds familiar on .....were you klutch rsx???

and i agree, the rsx sounded alot more louder, however i think TL with intake sounds pretty similiar to a RSX with cai and hondata (loudness wise)

but congrats!

heres the link o fujita's applications

if you go down to TL its for the 04-06 TL it says

MA-1006 2004-2006 TL Cold Air

if you go down to Accord

MA-1006 2003-2006 Accord V6 Cold Air

its the same part #

linky

http://f5air.com/applications.html

if it wrong.. then im just gonna have to wait for them to come out with an application forthe TL Type S specifically.

until then its working fine, it fits fine (without foglights) its even more air flow wtih out them
and its staying that way till i guess fujita makes a specific app for the 07-08 TL or 07-08 TL Type S

yoooooo if I knew that I wouldn't have a hole in my bumper right now... THAT LOOKS AWESOME...
part # is correct... maybe you should have read the directions... you have not relocated the ground wire... go glance at the directions right quick

BUT IT DOES LOOK SICK

No you got the part number right, but what they sent you must be different. Others have installed the Fujita with no problem and that location isnt right at all. And I dont know where you live, but it could be a serious problem if you get any significant amount of rain as it shouldnt be that low and that exposed.

had cold air intakes on all of my past cars prelude, 2002 rsx 2005 rsx. never had any problems with them. rsx was much lower than the TL. prelude was even lower than the rsx.

im not worried

So. Jersey no problems for me atleast

Here is aznbenz07's pics. notice how the Fujita badge on the tube is facing the windshield instead of up, but he has a non-typeS <-- not sure if that makes a difference.

Does Fujita really claim an 18whp gain for this intake? I find that tough to believe.

i personally say an intake gives the most 5 hp

well I mean truth be told you can argue that it will give an 18hp increase if you drive a car not equiped with one around the highway for a good half hour wide open... then immedietly throw it on the dyno and lets say it puts out 230... then you go about your business and install the cai after it cools down... install it... then put it on the dyno... if it read 248... ooooh that is a 18hp increase... but we all know that the conditions have been altered....
which is what occurs for the most part when parts dealing with the motor are installed...

Obviously the dyno charts are marketing schemes... but what I also mean by is that a motor under the same conditions will perform better with it than without... hp numbers aren't all they are cracked up to be... like bench pressing isn't the test of fulth strength

Does this entire thread suggest that the Fujita CAI doesnt fit on the 07-08 TL-S? Wondering because i need one ASAP!! especially if 18 HP increase!!!!!!!!!

I think it depends on displacement of the engine. 5HP sounds about right for a small 4cyl. and more like 7 or 8 on a good sized V6 such as ours. 18.....no way.

it fits the tl... the op DID NOT relocate the ground wire as it stats in the instructons... if you do not relocate the ground wire you will have the filter on top of your fog light... I rarely look at instructions so when a friend and I installed it... shortly after the install the vibration of the intake caused the plug into the foglight to come off... I plugged her back in... and the next day... foglight bulb when out... purchased new h8 bulbs and relocated the ground wire... no problems since...

ps. in other news I ended up cutting the intake tube so that my filter would be behind the vent which is on my bumper...

I wouldn't let the filter be exposed like that. Water can reach it and you will be cleaning that filter every few weeks. Unless you cover that fog outlet with a cloth mesh or something to catch all the dust and dirt from it and you will still get nice air flow going direct to your filter.

I would've agreed with Stillhere123 that you need to relocate the ground wire and mount the intake tube to where the ground wire used to be. If you did that, I dunno...

I'm gonna pull the bumper off to check one more time. There are two ground bolts for the wires I moved the one closest to the front. I'll try to put it on the back ground hole/bolt.

I didnt get the intake spacer that shouldn't make any difference
though

There are two different "holes" near the grounding he could have used. He used the wrong one. I almost did it that way too on my 2004 but realized the mistake before putting the bumper back on and corrected it. Once he does the same, he can put his fog lights back in...

took off the bumper... adjusted the intake piping... the ground hole was right that i relocated. so i did put it in the right hole from the get go

just had to loosen up the rubber mount and the hose clamps adjust more like twist and then re-tighten.. all is well

everything fits now

I saw this mad late but yea you got it! I was about to say that it was screwed into the ground holes, cause one thing you gotta realize is that these tl's suck up water and if you left the cai sticking out of the fog light like that your shit would have been out of commission by the next rain storm for certain.
