Fel Pro Head Gasket kit

I'll be replacing the HGs on the car soon and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using Felpro gaskets on a Type S? I bent a some valves a few months back so the heads will need to come off. I was going to order a Honda kit, but the Felpros through Rockauto are considerably cheaper.

If the quality is the same, I'd opt for the FPs but I haven't been able to find any threads through search with people who have specifically used it for the 3G and what their experience was.

Would appreciate any input!

Get the OE gasket. Never go aftermarket and cheap out. They will leak way sooner then the OE gasket.

Felpro designs and builds gaskets the same or superior to oem quality in many makes and models. Just because they are cheaper do not think they are inferior. That is a myth many unfamiliar people are baited on. The oem parts are marked up considerably and do not have an advantage over the aftermarket part.

Felpro HG will work just fine on your Type S. As will any other gasket from them.

FelPro makes good quality gaskets. But we put it on my dads accords valve cover and it started leaking within a couple days. No issues with the gasket install. Installed OEM gasket no leaks.

I would stick with OEM, may be a couple bucks more (maybe less depending on where you get it from if you are in the US).

stick with OEM in this case. Pulling the cylinder heads really suck. If it was just the manifold or runner gasket I wouldn't hesitate with felpro

Actually you're not quite right there. We have had customers request cheaper after many talks about sticking to OE gaskets. Felpro does not make better gaskets then the oe manufacturer. I've seen them leak prematurely on almost every car.

I also use them on all my customer cars as well as my own. I have never had one fail or leak prematurely. I use all their gasket designs. They have performed just like the oem gasket. We have two vastly different analyses on the same brand. I will continue to use them as they are a great alternative and not a rip off like the oem gaskets are. If oem was price competitive I would probably use them since I do like to go oem when possible.

I think I'll stick with OEM here. They may be a few bucks more, but the piece of mind is worth it. Thanks guys!
