problems galore

So I current have the Intake Manifold removed and went to replace the studs with my new supposedly "longer" ones and they are the SAME FREAKIN LENGTH!

so, so much for "ps. will also require 92900-08060-1B (2 of them) which is the long stud on the intake runners" because they are the exact same.

What part # do i really need here guys?

Impressive torque bump for the money. Also an improvement over both complete curves. I may look into this, but may wait a little for those bolts to get back in stock, also to find out about those 2 "extended" bolts you mentioned.

2nd Gen?

Any idea if this would yield similar gains on the 2nd Gen TL-S or CL-S?

I have two questions about the dyno chart.
1) Are the dashed lines the before install pulls?

2)Is the AFR supposed to look like that? I mean, it doesn't lean out, but its a little rich throughout and is only stoich at peak rpm.

Pics. Details Later.

Im posting these up in a rush but will be back later with details. One of the pics below is of a BMW Part # for the (7) M8x105 bolts you will need! $3.33 a piece from my local BMW and are used in the 1994-1999 320i. They are out of stock from acura nationwide as had been mentioned....So I did my own hunting Glad to share!

Awesome. Love the pics.
I just realized that [most likely] the engine cover won't be able to be used...
Hmn... maybe I'll get mines polished before doing this mod.

yeah ur right on that one. The engine is mammoth looking now. Who needs engine covers? all they do is trap heat and look pretty. I like the raw look

Did you need hood spacers? Have you test driven it yet? Feel a difference? Trying to get all necessary feedback incase I ever take the plunge.

1. I stalled that dotted is before the IM SPACER.

2. No....I'm running rich....I need a tune, BAD! ...it would have so much more potential with a tune...

Needed about 2mm worth of spacers on each side. Also adjusted the hood latch up to within 2mm of its max height.

I drove it and the car is definitely more torquey throughout the band and at mid-rpm's (3-4k) ATLP Quad exhaust note actually quite a bit louder for some reason...even at idle. It's a big improvement better passing ability at highway speeds without having to drop a gear. Thumbs up!

Not one bit. My hood was a little low to begin with tho, so this brought it up flush with the fenders.

that large hose exiting the rear of the IM bothers me. It's butted up against the RV6 strut brace. The stock one is thicker.

ACU-RATE, do you have the stock strut bar? And are you running rich because of this mod?

This might be a sweet salvage yard find.

Is this spacer on Pilot/MDX/Odyssey 3.5L's since 2003?

The "spacers" are nothing more than four M8 diameter washers that I had sitting around the tool bench. Each is 2mm thick and installed them by removing the hood hinge bolts and placing one washer inbetween the sheet metal and hinge. Simple as that.

My wife has an 02 mdx and it has the spacer on her 3.5. Im about to go steal it off hers... haha she dont need it!! wonder how this would affect the mdx if i did this??

as far as those vacuum hoses being stretched goes why not order them off the mdx or equivalent vehicle the spacer comes on... id assume they would be long enough to accomodate the spacer?

Btw, i have called a few salvage yards and they REFUSE to sell me just the spacer, they want to sell me the complete upper and lower manifolds! anywhere from 150-200 shipped... FAWK that. I ask them to just sell me the spacer and they say, o no i wont do thaaaat!!!

The hose is NOT a big deal as ur make it out to be....

I just cut 1/2" off & it fits fine with the stock strut bar.

No...this mod is NOT the reason im running RICH...I was running rich before this mod...as a matter of fact...according to the before & after dyno chart...im running a bit LEANER after installing the IM Spacer.

Nice! Def a salvage yard find! Dyno is from a type-s though right? I'd assume a 3.2 will get slightly lower gains?

if beachexotic03 comes back with his 3.2 dyno we will know for sure, but then again im not sure what supporting mods he has. I personally have a 3.2 with Jpipe, 3rd cat delete, and ATLP Quad.

Regardless of the gains, the "feel" says it all when driving the car. I'm LOVING this mod. (and no its not all in my head) hehe

I believe the only difference between the model years is that they changed the EGR port shape. But I don't think that actually would cause an issue, as the EGR port is in the same location. Just saying..

so here are the pics of manifolds... looks like the outside casting has some additional screw holes... wonder about fitment issues because of... i could grind them off easily but would the mdx upper manifold fit back down on the lower manifold w/o issues.... and are those holes NEEDED on the 02 mdx?? what bolts into those holes now that if you steel the spacer off it wont go back together right or what not

Better than I thought for sure. My question is are the runs posted the best before and after runs? Did you do just one dyno for before and after? The reason I ask is that many cars will show about a 5whp difference between runs with no changes to the car.

I'm still very impressed by the TL-S 6MT whp/wtq numbers. I can't figure out why these cars aren't going significantly faster (ie MPH) in the 1/4 mile. From what I've seen, typically modded TL-S are doing 99-101mph. I would think it would be more like 104mph.
