gerzand, I believe that is the vac solenoid for the Vac assisted motor mounts. The Booster hose is the big hose on the right in that last pic. The one that isn't connected because it hits the strut brace. Just to clarify...

If you want the spacers milled/thinned out, I could talk to Richi @ the CNC shop and see if he'd be willing to help out and do it at no cost. If someone wants to try it, take it to him and send it back to someone willing to send me it...

You can't even fit that sensor back on the mounting bolt using the P2R spacer. I hung mine off the back of the engine with a zip tie.

The point is YOU DONT WANT TO. It will tear itsself up over the long run as well as cause increased engine noise/vibration. I know because ive experienced it already. hehe k?

^yup. although I don't think it would have fit on my setup, I knew I wouldn't want to because of rubbing, vibes and probably eventual failure.

Well I'm not going to lie; I was skeptical about doing this because of the hood mods. After gerzand's post, I'm confident that I can do it without noticing with the hood down. Plus I'm ready for the extra tq.

Are you saying that a CEL will occur with this solenoid missing ? If so, this is not true.

I studied the wiring diagram in the service manual before removing mine. This solenoid is a "dumb" solenoid, meaning that the ECU recieves no feedback from the solenoid. The ECU is unaware if the solenoid is attached or missing. The ECU just sends voltage to this solenoid, and the ECU does not check for a closed-circuit or anything signal in return.

I have had my solenoid completely off of my car since I install my IM motor mounts. This was many thousand miles ago and never have I had a CEL.

Wow! That's impressive! What kind of dyno did you use? Mustang or dyno pack?

Also what else do you have besides the port and polish, spacer, and TB bored?

well there's yer problem right there!

found the source of all that noise I've been complaining about. weld finally broke completely Friday night and it was stoopid embarrassing loud. car feels all tame and slow now.

^beach, awesome pull on the dyno. 6MT? 250 at the wheels on my 5AT would be very gratifying.

My spacer will go back on soon. Oh, and I removed the hood spacers. Not for you "pop" haters, but because I have some serious warranty work coming up and I'm not giving the dealer any pull to point the finger.

naw, want my no-cats back. I like being an earth pig and burning dinosaurs.

i left the heatshields off the stock cats since I don't plan on them staying on very long. think this is gonna hurt anything?

Naaaaaah leaving the heatshields won't cause no problems, they would lower temps a slight bit, but the stock cats actually don't retain heat

Can't wait for richie to release the v2 of the precat deletes

yes it is... they will be out soon

as for resonated precat deletes.... the heat coming out of the motor will melt the resonated walls and it would end up sounding like ass...

Kinda tired of hearing 'resonated', myself. Let it Breathe!

Rich rules. He's gonna hook me up with the V2's. Says their thicker and have better 02 sims.

Back to the thread, I did want to share that this mod vastly improves throttle response. I've been noticing how mushy the pedal is since I removed the spacer - even with the hole in that was in my rear down pipe.

because he had thought it might have been the reason for the noise he was getting which actually ended up being his failed precat delete.

Ned, I'm actually still waiting on a set from Richie too due to failed welds, but around the flanges in my case. Im excited that my wait on the V2's completion since March is almost over tho.

like gerzand said, thought it was the source of my problem since it started right around the time I installed it.

true, true! Sounds like he strengthened them and upgraded the defoulers. My defouler bungs were corroding, baby-shit green like an old nickel or the Statue of Liberty before they re-painted her. Code's gone, too.

The thing that has me grinning about the pre-cat failure is I ran it at the track with the beginning of that weld breaking. It was running strong but, maybe I could have posted a bit better number without the exhaust dump. Is that what electronic cutouts sound like? Cause it sucked! Baby's so quiet now I wish I hadn't put that Aero resonator on my ATLP...

I had to customize the ENG cover (itself)...I had to cut the front part of the holes for the oil dip stick & oil cap.

I do have my hood popped..pics is on page 7...But its alot more flushed now compared to the PICs...now that ive adjusted the hood latch some & removed the P2R IM gasket & add the OEM gasket

Yes, I did some cutting to the hood frame...prolly alot more than some to make room for the ENG cover.
