Extreme Teaser: Another real tuning option? :D
Ok guys I wanted to share what I can. And it isn't much so forgive me. This also is an area I'm not too fluent in so bear with me.
I mentioned in another thread that I had heard from the grapevine that we have another tuning option coming. Well, after a lengthy phone call today it's been validated to be true. And it's just around the corner.
Basically, whatever the issue was before has been figured out, deciphered, unlocked, decrypted, whatever. It took someone (really them) 3 years to get it but they did. They being a very reputable company that I can't yet name. Lol
But I can say it uses the stock ecu (no additional ECU), has the same tuning capabilities as say a Hondata S300, and will come with a sub $1000 price tag. I was told it will likely be less then $750.
It is currently in beta version but I was told to expect this within two months. I was also specifically told that when it is released, it's complete. There will be no bugs, issues, no learning curve. 100% perfection (exact words).
Anyways, sorry I can't divulge more. I only know because a good friend is good friends with said companies owner.

Like I said, all Honda v6 engines and apparently it also is something special for the Ks.
I'm not bullshitting here. I waited till I talked to the source until I started this still vague thread. I just thought some of you would like to know. So real deal from a very reputable company.

i'll believe when i see it as well. The 3G TL has been out for 9 years now... And only made for 4 years... The ecu is a self learn ECU which is why it was so hard to make a tuning solution possible. it overrides its own data to make it run more efficient per driver... The whole promise of no bugs/issues already has me doubting it but if it true and it works, i will def be surprised...

And no beta most certainly does not mean "trying something".
But hey I'm just passing along news here. I wish I could drop names but not yet. And it's not Hondata.

Dude, we do appreciate it and hope for it but we just wont get too excited for this as we sometimes just "know" better. Im sure all the "believe it when i see it" people feel just like I do... If it happens, it'll be great (depending on what it actually does)... If it doesn't, oh well.. we already knew better lol.

What I said above about being ready to go the day it's announced is something that was told to me but also something they clearly state on their website for their current offerings.
No doubt. But hey, if it happens great if not oh well. I just so happen to know someone who is an authorized dealer or whatever and he spilled the beans.
And trust me when I say I argued and argued.
I was a bit drunk last night so if I was overzealous forgive me.

No problem.
What I meant by the "turbo thread" comment was ..... When the turbo thread started, everyone said "it ain't gonna happen" and everyone one was cynical about a turbo being offered for the TL.
A few pages later, people were like WTH ????

^I know. I remember how that thread went.
I mean new products are released all the time. I just think most, myself included, are skeptical because all this time has passed and we have(had) nothing.
I was also told that this breakthrough also opened up something for the K series that they couldn't before and that supposedly it will "give Kpro a run for their money". Are the new Ks not tunable? Obviously the old Ks are very tunable. Has there been both OBD1 Ks and OBD2 Ks?

Burning Brakes
Will just be like Flashpro: plug it in your OBD2 > Upload maps > un plug it.
The source came when the JnR ecu was coming out via group buy, I backed out for a reason. Because it's from a reputable company.

hopefully this ends up working out. Happy to see a new mod with what sounds like a reasonable price tag.
