Exhaust question

Hey guys I'm thinking about doing a stage 4 on my TL and I'm just curious, if I could get a free flow cat on top of doing a mid muff delete and res delete and if so would having a free flow cat with the stage 4 change the sound at all? Iv already got a CAI and it gets a pretty cool sound but just looking for a bit more. I heard that with a free flow cat you get better gas mileage and a bit more power but not sure how accurate that is. Anyways any input helps thanks

you're doing the stage 4.
Minus whale, get the free flowing cat..

its all up to you and not really up to us.
experiment, and if you dont like it, take it off.

there are plenty of threads here to where you can come up with a conclusion.
I know that you cant hear sounds over the internet, but its pretty important to experiment and find out what YOU like.

I have a stage 4 (no resonator or mid-muffler) on my Type-S. I love the sound. It does has a slight rasp at 2500rpms, but I think that is the best part. Here is a video I took of a cold start up (not really cold 100 degrees outside).

Yah that's pretty sick. I like the kinda most grunge it get. Makes the car sound like its got a beast under the hood snarling at everyone haha. Do you have a CAI? And iv got the stock exhaust so will it be different??

Not really sure how a base TL exhaust sounds. Yes I have an Injen CAI I think the combo sounds great at wide open throttle. I hear the intake more with the windows up, but the exhaust more with the windows down.

Simple, a base tl exhaust has no sound.

Well with the CAI it gets a cool sound at higher rpms but I want just the basic sound to be nice. People keep saying about a Jpipe which I'm not too sure what it is. And what's the price on em?

^ 450$, doesn't really change the sound of stock exhaust but give good HP/TQ.

If youre trying to only spend under 100$. I would either remove mid muffler only, or remove rear mufflers. I once had stage 4 and the rasp really got on my nerves. If you want the most sound remove rear mufflers, because they are what cause rasp.
