Whoa whoa, got any pics/vids??? Was it on a TL??? Was it mandrel bent? Which resonator/muffler did you use??? I want exactly that, a 3" that's a little deeper/louder than stock at idle/cruising with NO rasp, screaming banshee outta hell when WOT...

Great thread. Believe it or not, from my experience, the Jpipe has the most influence on exhaust tone; not loudness, tone. I went from the RV6 V1 to a custom Jpipe and it completely changed the sound. I liked how it sounded with the V1, but I LOVEEEE how it sounds now. It has a little "VR6" grumble to it when in VTEC. It's on the loud side for sure, but the tone is great. I'm thinking of replacing my current reso with a larger one as to keep it down while cruising. I want it to be relatively loud WOT, but not when cruising. I can't stand the droning/resonance I have now.

This 'custom' option is great. There are some great exhausts out there right now, don't get me wrong, but it's always nice to "make it yourself." You choose the size of the piping you want, then have to choose your own mufflers. I think a lot of people would jump on this. Some love the idea of just bolting it up knowing the company behind it, while others would love to make it their own. Plus the 3" option is a huge plus for some.

3" exhaust is what I'm looking for as well, any ideas about the tips? I'm wondering if dual 4" 20 degree angle tips (magnaflow #35121) is too much to fit and look good in a stock Type S bumper...

Any updates?? I really want a 2.5 inch pipe with a resonator big enough to eliminate the rasp from my v3 PCD and jpipe. It would be great if I could use my stock mufflers so I could still have that nice stealth OEM look. I'm not a fan of any of the aftermarket exhaust tips for the base TL. Please let me know the status.... Thanks

Is this going to happen? I hope so Please let me know before I get weak and purchase a cat back. I would much rather have this pipe since I could keep my sexy stock tips while rockin 2.5". My TL desperately needs this pipe.
