Eshaust Mod 07 type s

SO today I whacked out the long Resonator and replaced it with a straight SS .. I notice NO difference in sound However the car revs a hell of a lot quicker up top , I wack the rev limiter if I shift in the normal spot everytime I now have to shift @ 500 rpms sooner ... I decided to leave the mid muffler (the smallermuffler) and the other back 2 alone ... I honestly thought by taking that long resonator out I would notice SOME sound ... NOTHING!!!! sounds exactly the same

I wouldn't recommend taking both resonators out and replacing it all with SS piping, it sounds bad. Instead, remove both resonators, but make sure you replace it with either a dynomax or magnaflow resonator.

I can't judge what your looking for out of this, but this doesn't yield a huge gain in sound...it's more of subtle burple in tone. You may want to look into an exhaust system if sound is what your looking for, but I'd suggest cheching out the resonator removal thread.

When U say Sounds bad what do u mean? Have u done this or heard it on an 07 type s?
Also u say to use the dynomax resonator well if that is the case then I guess I already messed up rite? I put a straight pipe in place of the long stock resonator . So I guess that is where I should have put the dynomax res and then Replaced that small muffler with just a straight pipe?? is that rite?

Well, bad in my opinion meaning it's raspy and does not match the TL. The resonators help smoothen out the harsh waves a bit, just enough to make it a smooth tone.

For the resonator, it shouldn't make too much of a difference if you place the dynomax resonator on the part where the square stock resonator currently is.

I went with the dynomax resonator, cut about ~3 feet of pipe from underneath car and replaced it with the dynomax resonator and more pipe... picture bellow link as well

I answered your question on the thread you opened up... 60mm or 2.36 inches

if you would like to do the resonator mod you could get either the 2.25" or the 2.5" resonator

both retail for the same price and both can be welded right on to the stock exhaust tubing

ss = stainless steel
