I watch those parameters all the time. This is also helpful durring tuning both dyno and street. I like to watch the IAT over ambient and timing changes. I am still having trouble getting the data logs to show up on my computer but it works great as just a set of gauges.

YOU DON'T NEED A OBD-II INTERFACE.

Grab everything from the MegaSquirt 3. You just need to figure a way to get it to a readable display. If the device isn't ported to the MS3, then port it (EGT for example). The MS3 can log, so use it.

People who don't have an MS3 are just confusing people who are about to get one.

^^^ just wanted to know, how do you have MS3 take the AFR into account....since the stock ECU does not monitor AFR....

I have a wideband gauge and feed the MS3 with that. Where did you get the impression that the stock ECU doesn't take into account A/F????????? Where do you think engine management resides from the factory, little elves?

Not sure what Rodney has in mind because it should be possible to use the stock circuits.

^^^ what i meant is none of the gauges will show the AFR directly from the stock ECU right ? I thought we need a wideband sensor directly connected to a gauge....

so with the MS3, will i need a wideband sensor or will stock ECU directly provide this detail....

i would be completely wrong here and thats why i created this thread to know more....

Hey Swoosh, Torque Pro definitely does read and display the AFR... (BTW, mine never goes below 14....). unfortunately the stock O2 sensor is only accurate for maybe one full WOT run...if you do more runs it becomes less accurate, hence the need for a dedicated wideband...

If you want to read the stock ECU's O2 sensors without any piggyback controller, then you need an OBD-II scanner as people have mentioned with the software/hardware of your choice to display it.

If you are using the MS3 as your engine management, it still needs to know what the reading is from your tailpipe to base it's adjustments against. Be it the stock circuitry or an aftermarket gauge with an independent O2 sensor is up to you.

Ya know I have to say I *have* seen it dip into the 13s for a split second too, but for the majority of part and full throttle runs for me, it's *mostly* in the 14s...which is one of the reasons I'm getting the J&R ecu so I can make it richer...(among other things...)

Cruising and part throttle its mid to high 14s. Full throttle mid to high 13s. I will check again later. Do a couple pulls on the high way.

I havent recorded or really looked at any logs. Can you look at the logs on a normal computer or are the only to view on phone and send to the creator.?.... sorry if that sounds stupid.

Bosch is in the Innovative and AEM.. I think it is the same hardware for all of them.. its the guages after that does the tweaks/readings

well from reading up on the product sites... googled to see which one is better and getting toss ups between AEM and LC1.. seems like most Hondas/Acuras run AEM.. Mustangs and domestics are running more LC1s... again this is from my google search

Almost all seem to run the Bosch sensor. I've read better things about the Innovate Motorsports wideband but at the time wanted to match my boost controller so I ended up with an AEM UEGO to go with the Tru-Boost.

Now that the MS3 is controlling boost, I am thinking about a different set of gauges.

Just thought I would post about the DGauge I have in my TSX. It fits perfectly in the storage compartment and should fit in the TL storage compartment as well. I don't have a smart phone, so this seemed like the best option and I must say I'm very happy with it. It even has a couple of external sensor inputs which I plan on using for oil temp and oil pressure. Here are pics from the Brockway website (too lazy to go out to the garage and take pics):

In a TSX (seeing this pic is what prompted me to buy one)

What is the point of gauges you can't read while driving? I could see using this for a data logger, but looking down while driving is a bad idea. If this thing is super cheap them run it but if you can afford the dash dyno it allows a much safer view of the gauges.

The DGauge looks suspiciously like the DashDyno. So, I checked the DGauge website. Appears to *not* be a updated DashDyno as I first thought. I do like the colored display. But the DGauge has no built-in logging capability. And the lack of logging is a deal-breaker for me.

i agree with you....this is something for you to look at when on the dyno i guess....

ps: i will be running the logging software when i get my ECU....so it will log the data while i drive....i just wanted to see what people are using the display the data, as i hate gauges....

yes, after you posted i did my share of reading about Dashdyno and I was super impressed....i really liked HOW MUCH MORE this thing logged....

since am getting the MS3 and it has its own logger am kinda conflicted, but i think to be on a safer side i might put dash dyno to see how different are the logs....

They all log the same stuff. One company may display more stuff in their advertisement than the other. But that is just "in general, your application may vary."

All of them just query (poll) the oem ecu. They can not display more parameters than what the oem ecu has to offer. With the exception of external (add-on) signals, which is a pain to setup in real life.

^^^ what i meant is the availability and display of data available....

yes all data loggers will log the same stuff, since different units connected to the same ECU...but presentation does matter to me

Its only 25 bucks together... I've seen the Elm327 v1.5 for $20 shipped from the us. Having the ability to check codes and see data and log data is def worth it. Ima get it plus my af,fp,boost gauges. I just wanted tommys view on it and a free bump to the thread

i was thinking of getting the bluetooth OBDII scanner and torque pro (combined $25) and will have all gauges on the tablet or a phone....also use the ECU the for data logging....

so wont have gauges sticking out like a bunny tooth and logging is also taken care off

The bluetooth adapter was quite easy to setup w/tunerstudio. Just pair it up using 1234 and figure out what com port your machine assigned it to.

You can change the number of dashboard screen from 7-15 so you can set up 15 different screen with 1-6 items. they have all needle gauges/ digital
