ECU reset exhuast quiet ?
When first put my atlp exhuast on it was loud. I reset the ecu last week and put 80 miles on it since. Exhuast seems quieter. Is this common and how long before it goes back

Or the exhaust breaking in and getting some carbon...

I used to "re-set" almost every other week because my Braille b2015 battery would get drained. I now have a Tomioka Racing TR-B2100 battery (that's 21 pounds to you Inaccurate) and no more dead battery issues. Re-setting the ECU always seems to make the engine sound stock quiet at first.

What is there to chime in about?
If it's a new exhaust give it time. If you just reset your ECU, give it time.
Resetting the ECU won't magically make an exhaust sound different.

i understand about carbon build up. but carbon is not the issue seeing as the sound changed within 15 min or so. the ecu goes back to stock settings i assume and even at idle the car is quiet. maybe i will reset again cold and let it idle longer. maybe i just need to drive it longer

This would mean your car is completely silent, as in no one can hear it running even when putting their ear right down against the intake manifold. Have you confirmed that it's actually running? Is the tach registering rpm's? If so, have you placed a stethoscope against the intake manifold in the hope of hearing some faint hit of valvetrain noise? Dogs have incredible hearing. Perhaps recruit one of the neighborhood dogs to have a listen? David Berkowitz used to talk to his neighbor's dog, so it's really not that big of a deal.

I think what he means is that he is certain that it's quieter, not that its literally 100% quieter.
Did you try driving WOT with the VSC off? Maybe resetting the ECU altered the throttle response?
I'm just guessing if anyone who has better knowledge about cars thinks something along those lines may be possible.

I'll co-sign on some of the posters above and say its some carbon build-up + you getting used to the exhaust tone. I'm not sure how an ECU reset would affect how loud/quiet it is.
When I first installed my j-pipe, I heard the difference every time I hopped in my car. Now I almost forget it's there until I press the gas.

holy shit....thats fucked up !!!
seriously Justn and Aaron...you guys are senior members man....if you dont have something informative to say then dont say it at all....all you guys are doing is shitting on people's thread....and then have a problem when someone else starts a thread on the same topic !!!
Bpark, the exhausts do have a tendency to quite down....maybe at first the exhaust was just a tad bit louder than your "threshold" and then it got a tad bit quieter than your threshold and hence you are saying its very quite
there are 2 variables here, first is exhaust getting quieter and 2nd is you adapting to the sound.....or maybe both....i think its a pure coincidence that the exhaust got quieter after you reset the ECU....the ECU reset has nothing to do with your tone of exhaust....
also any particular reason you reset the ECU ?

After I had my ATLP installed, I reset the ECU but didn't notice anything.
I bought the setup used, which means I skipped the break-in period.

King Kong, you know when you're trolling, and you write pretty much the same type of post in different thread...almost like a "reset"?!! Pretty much the same method to reset ECU.
If those days are behind you and you're actually trying to be helpful/inquisitive, I immediately don't apologize.

Now now Dave, you've been on Acurazine for over a year now. You should know how to use the search function.
If you can't do that, there's an AWESOME website called Google. You go there and type in what you want to find. I typed in "acurazine ecu reset" and WOW, LOOK!...

IT'S A MIRACLE!
