Thumbs up ECU Reset

I know that there is alot of controversy on here on whether resetting the ECU actually works. Well I'm here to tell ya, it most certainly does. In my mind though, it doesn't increase the performance of the TL whatsoever over factory settings, it just resets the performance so that it is like it just came out of the showroom. Minus the break in of course. I reset mine before I left work yesterday and didnt notice a difference right away. (Highway driving) then I got to this one patch of pavement that I drive everyday and punched it. Well I have to tell you that it was a night and day difference. It threw me back in my seat and the shifting was right where it was supposed to be. lost a little traction. (thanks alot FWD). Never lost traction there before. The car also sounds a little different when I get on it. (may be in my mind). Oh I have a 2005 TL. and I used the key method to reset.

How do you reset your ignition by key? It would never hurt to wipe it and start clean

Check the 3G garage/search. You can do the pedal method or just D/C the battery.

turn the key to the second position make sure everything is off like radio ac and so on... take it out put it back in and then again to the second position and press the gas pedal for like 30 seconds... i do it for a minute just to make sure. Then simply turn of take the key out put it in and turn the car on.

The key ignition trick does work if anyone's wondering...its like day and night. Plus it doesnt really do any harm to just turn the key a couple of times and press the gas.

couldnt you simply take off the battery cables and let it sit for a few minutes... then return them to posts, and thus you have reset the ecu? This used to work on the integra's wouldnt it be the same for TLs or any car at that matter?

Nice. Sure beats having to re-enter your codes. I forgot to save this method the last time. Probably going to do this once a week.
