Did you mean a Navigation DVD when you wrote "base map," or a mapping program for the ECU, or what?

im sorry i meant mapping program for the ecu.
so thats why it took me to all those navigation post
when i search base map, once again guys i appoligize
im kinda of new to this, the reason i need a ecu base map
is because my tuner ask if there anyway i can get a base map,
i dont no wat he did but he wasnt able to tune the car. the check
engine light keep coming on saying o2 sensor bank 2 no signal. so
he wasnt able to do anything. and by the way the car is supercharged
and im trying to tune it with the aem fic 30-1910. so the first place i went
to is this site cause i read a couple post that the aem fic works with our cars.

You may want to check the Performance Parts subforum to see what ECU maps exist-- https://acurazine.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=112.

IIRC, Hondata put together a tune for the supercharged 5AT TL; IDK if that works for the '07+ base TL or non-Honda controllers, though.

Your not gonna find much for the TL. YOu will have to make your own unless the one turbo company j/r will give you one for a certain price.

The base map for the fic are TOTALLY different between the supercharger and turbocharged TL's. My turbo map would not help you at all.

Your going to have to find a good tuner who can start from scratch.

A tune is specifically for one car, you can take ones tune but it will still need to be tweaked. IMO I would find a new tuner because he doesn't know what he's doing or doesn't know about HONDAS. There is no "base map" for any after market ECU, you have to create one and every tune is different from car to car. No matter if two identical cars have the same mods, two tunes are needed.

ya i was thinking of finding another tuner, but the thing is ive already paid
him the money to tune the car which was 650 dollors for a full tune, so i guess im stuck. what about if somebody that already have a sc with a fic
thats already tune, maybe if i can get there map and the tuner can tweak it from there. if thats even possible.

Changed your title and moved your thread to the Performance section. Perhaps someone in this section can help you.

You can still run a turbo basemap. Of course fueling and crap would be different but it would be something to just "start" the car. What you can do is enrich the map 10-15 percent which should richen the map enough for you to start out tuning. I havent seen the J/R map so I wouldnt be able to tell you anything. My buddy tunes AEM specifically...you just have to rent the dyno. He hasnt done an acura yet but I dont think it would be any different from any other car.

The turbo map might get it running but once you get into the throttle it's going to go pig rich and you will run into big issues, especially washdown of the cylinders. I would not do it.

I can't believe what these guys charge for a tune. IMO, this service should be the dyno fee plus $200. It's especially bad when he has no idea what he's doing. If he can't complete the service, he should give you a full refund.

Yes this should be expected but mainly its to dial in the start. As long as he is on a dyno he should be able to tune out the richness factor. Of course I am not telling him to drive the car on a turbo tune.

Yeah but you run the car and then tune it. He puts that map into this guys car and gives it that 3rd gear pull (if its 6 speed) at ~100mph at a pig rich state and ZERO tune progress there is a HIGH possibility of things going wrong.

Not really. You can build up the tune slowly. This is where a nice high quality load bearing dyno comes into play. Dyno Dynamics or Mustang. Great dynoes for these occasions. The dyno dynamics can hold the car at a certain speed and allow you to fine tune the cell. Thats why I like them but they are high dollar units. IF I was to spend my money I would tune on a dyno dynamics or Mustang...I would avoid dynojet thats just me. Those are only good for WOT tunes from what I can see.
