really no different than traditional "headers" for american and other makes. remove cats (restrictive), and make smoothest, most efficient path to j-pipe. scavenges exhaust gases more efficiently = more power. it's just top end bias in the TL but I certainly didn't lose power down low.

the cel light from the precat deletes is a hit or miss 99% of owners never get them that 1% of catless owners get them... clear it if it comes back adjust sensors

Is the half-shaft heat shield still needed with the PCD's? I was thinking of leaving it off. Doing this install with nothing but a pair of ramps SUCKS! I'm about worn out after about nine hours spread over two evenings. All I have to do is reinstall the j-pipe, fan, and strut tower brace and I'm finally done. :/ I'm just praying I didn't damage any 02 sensors and wind up with a CEL.

It is a judgement call. I left mine off and glad that I did. This was a couple years ago and no sign of any problems yet due to having mine off.

FYI below is a link to a DIY I wrote for the 8th gen accord on installing pcds there is also a video in it that could likely help 3rd gen tl owners install pcds in the future...

so as far as i know he used pcd a j-pipe magnaflow resonator and 2.5 inch piping back to the mufflers not quite sure if its oem mufflers or not but they look oem.....any ways any help advice pictures to get that rear off since i cant get a shop to do it in california cause its illegal would be soooooooo much appreciated!..........and yea i read through this entire thread, and have been looking through other threads as well....i had to put it back to stock because i only have one car...i.e. my 2007 acura tl type s 5at, and i need a way to work and the shop and deff not gonna pay someone to come tow it....so looks like ill be trying to get at this some weekend from now when im not frustrated and im inspired again to get at it

Your posts seems like you started typing drunk then began to sober up near the end.

you need to get a flexible head 3/8" ratchet, you can find it at sears or any tool store. it makes the job so much easier (not easy, just easier) because you can get better leverage for that rear precat since it's so tight back there and the wrench needs to be at weird angles.

richie from rv6 also recommended this and he has installed it multiple times, he mentioned it in one of the threads on here. just be patient and you will get it done.

i have a flexible 3/8 ratchet with an adjustable extension on the handle to give it an increase in mechanical leverage and i freakin love that ratchet.....
