HorsePower at 4K...... WOW

There is so much power at 4k RPMs and above. It's so easy to get 90MPH in 4th gear and routine street riding is so uneffected. I have a 6mt.
Between 2k N 3K RPMs it's not as fast as I would like it. I will contact Comptech about this.

To all those on the fence about getting a SC the is question is simple, what are you waiting for!

The SC has some noise at 4k but with your radio on or just talking to someone you will not notice it.

TOTAL COST IS $5500 .....LABOR,,COST OF SC AND BATTERY.....

OH....DOES ANYONE NEED AN........ AEM CAI......SELLING MINES.....

Glad to see you're happy with it.

With the VTEC changeover changed to 4K you're going to notice a huge increase in power at that point in the powerband.

This motor really doesn't make much torque down low so between 2-3,000 rpms you still aren't going to be riping it up. However, I'm sure part of what you're feeling is the extreme change in power at 4,000rpm so it makes it feel 'not as fast' in the lower rpms.

Awesome!!! Are you experiencing any problems at all? or is it as smooth as you thought? Is the dealer going to cover you under warranty?

I am very happy with the SC.
I am getting use to it now and getting pass the little jerking part, which happens around 2 to 4 RPMs.

If you are on the fence and truely unsure.. I will say this to you.

Buy this if you want extra speed and unfront power..

I just cant' wait for intercooler to add more power.

My guess is...this wasnt discussed? But....my guess the logical answer would be this....Comptech warrants the SC and Acura warrants the engine.....but....I am sure Acura would weazle out of their end if something major happened like a total engine failure or something that they could even 1/2 equate to the SC....BUT....I am sure for any little problems...the dealer would use their discretionary power with Acura and handle the issue under warrantee. I mean...its not as if the alternator goes out or something and they could blame it on the SC - but if you had internal engine probs that may be a different story entirely - and I am sure the scope of the problem would be the deciding factor if Acura picked up a warrantee repair on the motor. As Honda/Acura motors themselves are fairly reliable and balanced....my guess is that there would be no problem they will even have to address? But....that is just my opinion....would also be curious to know what the dealer told him, if anything at all?

If anything happens to the engine that is related to the supercharger 9 times out of 10 you are going to pay for it. It's a factory warranty not a dealership warranty. When it comes to high dollar work, like an engine or transmission replacement, it's above the individual dealership's discretion.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been a single engine failure directly related to the supercharger being installed on any car (CL, TL, RSX, S2000, NSX, etc) so long as the factory boost level isn't increased. If you decide on your own to up the boost Comptech isn't going to cover you.

My warranty is as followed...SC comptech...and the engine is Acura.

I am getting a Dyno soon..

But my question to a few of you guys is this.

Which one of you will get a SC?

It's fast and powerful...

I have been on the highway and getting to 100mhp in 5th gear is so easy.

Like I said before...if your into performance as a tuner then the SC is for you...this is one simple question to ask yourself..

There is a small feeling in the car between 2k and 4k RPMs.
The makes the jerky to me. I'm not to sure if you were behind me in your car if you can see this jerking.

I call Comptech today but the tech had the day off...calling back tomorrow.

Listen people this small little bump and I mean small will not have me taking the SC back.

Comptech has had no calls regarding this or any other issues.
I am the first.

I love the power and speed I get from it.

And the price ....once purchased.... is low compared to other SC on the market....ie...Stillen....HKS...Vortech...Neuspeed ...Jackson...Roush.

I just got back for a quick ride and I believe the problem with the jecking may be me.

I am not the best at shifting gears.
And between 2 and 3 gear I am a messy.

I will let you guys know if it's me or the SC jecking..

It better be able to hit the low 13's in the quarter. I am thinking the very high 12's maybe mid with a after tranny cooler with Blow off valve. 60-65 horse power should give you more than a second in the quarter. If there is a way to get the 60' down to 1. range it would make a great difference

You can get into the high 1.-- with drag radials.

I would worry that this jerking phenomenon would damage the tranny over time

A blow-off valve? Yeah that'll do it.

Expect mid 13s at around 105MPH. It's a FWD car and wheel hop is going to be a nightmare off the line if you try and get a strong start.

Drag radials aren't needed to get good 60' times. On all season tires on stock rims I managed a 2.000

FYI a car of this weight and drivetrain needs about 340whp to make it into the 12s and that's with traction.

This is what will happen. Notice I needed to baby it out of the hole. Then once I'm half way down the track the car is pulling like a monster.

Unfortunately the best I could do in the 6-speed this day was 14.0 but my trap speed was 104MPH. My 60' time was 0.2 slower than my best in the automatic.

Additionally I had only had the car for 3 weeks when this was taken so I wasn't used to the clutch and shifter completely.

Given the horsepower of the car, with the right tires and driver it has the capability of a low 13 second pass at over 110MPH.

For reference the car next to me ran 14.2 @ 90 MPH. It looks like I got my ass kicked but his reaction time was much better than mine. Notice at the 1/8 mile my car is pulling like a monster on him. It isn't easy to drive this car with the manual transmission at the track.

I spoke to the people at comptech and they are working on the jerking issue.

People the jerking is so small and I mean small.

Mr Steve did you have a SC when you were at the track?

And what kind of mustang was it?

Yeah I was supercharged. It was a '92ish LX 5.0. Not sure of the mods. I beat his trap speed by 14MPH though which is well over a 100whp difference.

As fas as, starting smooth is the key and about 2k RPMs will rocked you pass most cars.

How many people have a SC now.

I would like to hear from you guys.

A like of people are giving answers here but have no SC.

'89-'92 LX 5.0. Pretty close to stock I think.

He beat me to the finish but my ET and trap speed were better.
