Yeah i removed the hood liner....and i didnt want to CUT the hood like others did....

Those hood spacers are actually washers...I didnt want my hood to pop more than I wanted....I started off with 2 washers on each side, I still had contact and vibrations coming into the cabin....topped off at 4 washers each side....

I dont agree with you on the low end and high end dude....i have an AT and I spin tires into 2nd....I recently (been couple months) rode alongside a 2011/2012 Mustang GT500...A friend rented that and we were on the highway....went from 50-ish to 110 and I had a 110 pound passenger with me....He was only able to put a half car length on me....I thought which was bad ass for a TL....now from a dig it would have been a completely different story....

I have a WDP 07 TLs and I'm gonna gonwith the white calipers with black bremo decal. I love the way it looks behind the black chrome rim.

I was researching and everything I came across said that brembo recommends you just clean and scuff up the existing finish on their brakes, that there isn't a need for a primer. In another forum a guy contacted brembo directly and that is what they said to do. I'll post pics once I do it this upcoming weekend.

Hey guys, is 3.25 x .75 the standard size for the brembo decals? That seems small to me but I just wanted to make sure before I buy them on eBay.

Thank you in advance!

gotta remember buddy, i had a 420/430 whp/wtq car (575 chp...) and this engine is great as an appliance, but not as a performance one. if the v6's were DOHC, a la b-series heads, we would all be up 30 whp. this car tries too much to be a honda to be performance anything.

3.5"x.81" I do believe. But that's the standard Brembo logo size. That doesn't mean it's the same size as the Acura logo.

here's what i did

i highly recommend g2 brush on paint. and then high temp clear so you dont get the over spray you see on everyone else's rotors.

LOL, your 3.2L 5AT Base TL with basic bolt ons and some intake porting ran neck and neck with a blown 5.4L 550 hp Mustang that runs low 12's @ 117 mph? That's so preposterous I can't even raise the BS flag.

Swoosh,

You sure the Stang wasn't a new gen 305hp V6 Stang with GT500-like sticker package? Rental agencies don't rent out GT500 unless it was maybe an exotic car rental agency.

A stock 05 TL 5AT is a 14.8-15.2@93-94mph car. A stock 6AT (that's all they rent) 305hp V6 Stang is a 14.2-14.4@97-99mph car. With your bolt-ons, you're probably in the mid 14s. Pulling half a car on you sounds about right for that car. A GT500 would LONG gone regardless of type of race.

That is awesome! I have been contemplating this combo for over a month and hadn't seen anyone do it yet, thanks a ton for posting that. Looks amazing.

you bet....thats why i thought the guy didnt know how to drive....if i kept up with the Mustang 2011 GT500, my car did amazing good LOL....that car has 400+ horses for crying out loud....

when am at 50mph and shift down to 2nd (5AT), the top end is just insane, i got a kinda jump on him (assuming he punched it and by the time the ECU shifted down, engaged a gear and shit), I was a little less than 1/2 car length ahead and then he kept on pulling and pulled ~1/2 car on me....again I dont know the guys driving skills....I think he messed up, there is no way my car would keep up with a mustang gt500....

Rental companies do have those cars....I used to travel every week to Dallas and when you rent a car every week for a year they tend to give you all premium cars....this was back in 2010

this dude used to cadillac srx/ford mustang gt500/dodge challenger r/t...I actually drove all those cars and fell in love with the challenger r/t.....

I'm confused. You said it was a friend who rented the GT500. And yeah, it has about 150 more than 400 horsepower.

a apologize for the confusion....it WASNT a shelby gt500....it was a 2011 mustang 5.0 v8 (412hp and 390 tq)....here is the link:

http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/tri...remium#viewAll

i was confused myself....i meant ford mustang GT 5.0 and kept saying GT500 LOL....

even thow it was the GT 5.0, my car shouldnt have been able to keep up....but guess he was a sloppy driver or wasnt doing something right....

How did I miss this thread...I have been itching to do the copper with black lettering...and voila...of course there's already a thread on it. I like the teal a lot too, but with my black on black theme, I think the copper would look great.

we shall see!

Ummm...I don't think this is a for sale thread bud, unfortunately.

That said, I will say that I've always been annoyed by people saying "you change the brakes"...no, they're factory..."REALLY...nice". Yeah, they are brembo..."really!". So yeah, putting Brembo decals on might be on my agenda.

In addition, I've now contacted these people below. Asking them for exact dimensions to make sure it'll look good. Also, asking if it's high temp vinyl, also asking if you can split up colors in 1 order of 10. I'd like white, black and some other options to pick from.

^ yea if u want to know the web site i got it from hit me up i can fill you in on the details.... they carry every car color so you just look it up and order and they send in aerosol format which is easy... this was a base coat... the pearl coat and then the high gloss coat... i got the brembo stickers off ebay for a few $ and cleared over them so they look as part of the caliper and wont peel off

I would be willing to split some of the cost on a custom size order of hi temp decals... I would prefer Brembo but would do Acura too.

And yea, I figured this thread could be a repository of brembo caliper color combos...

this thread was pure genius...
that color above on the AMG looks very close to being one of the gold/copper VHT engine enamel colors. I'm thinking you can get a caliper rated primer, to get a coating on there to have a temperature buffer, then hit it with whatever base color you want. Then seal with the caliper clear...many coats with the brembo decal on it.

the GOLD will look awesome on a WDP....On a NBP I dont think how good this will look....you dont want to caliper to steal away from the car....

thats just me....I think on a NBP a Red/Blue/Teal caliper with black lettering will look wayyyy better....thats just me thow....

honestly, I plan to ask for 2 sets of white/black and silver. seller above already told me they'd give me some different colors. So I can always change it later.

I tend to agree though...if I can find a blue that matches my lugs/valve stems, that would be great...will still draw attention to it, but might look good.

Also, been thinking of this...
I've seen a bunch of lambo's and the new ctsv coupe with black on black AND a bright colored caliper and it looks GREAT! So I shall see.

probably two bolts on the back end...and disconnect the brake line.

biggest issue would be having to bleed the system after and down time, of course. Probably could work with it on the car though...

About comparing to a lambo...hey hey hey now...I love my car...a lot. And I'm looking at the color combo's not comparing the car although I love it LIKE a lambo!
