cracked rubber material on AEM CAI filter.

cracked rubber material on AEM CAI filter.
I decided to clean my AEM CAI filter for the first time this weekend. After I removed it from my car, I noticed the rubber material on the filter had cracks everywhere. For those of you who also has the AEM CAI, have you noticed this problem on your filter also? I think I'm going to contact AEM and see what they have to say about this.

I would not use the term "cracks". However, I would say "decomposed or breaking-down" of the poly material (poly urethane?).
Almost looks like some critter was chewing on it. Mouse? Almost looks that way, but I don't really think it was a critter.
Did you look to see if the filter was rubbing against the car? The engine moves around a lot with factory motor mounts. The filter could be pushed against the car body when the motor is under load.
Otherwise, I would for sure contact AEM. My first guess is rubbing issues. But, my second guess is deterioration of the poly urethane.
BTW, this is the first time that this has been posted on our forum. So, you do have a unique issue on your hands.
