Comptech Supercharger Groupbuy

Hello. For those of you who don't know me I am an Official Vendor for Acurazine. My name is Josh and my company is Excelerate. The Comptech Supercharger kit for the 04+ TL has been released and I would like to begin a groupbuy. This will work as a real groupbuy. I will be making a list and once I have at least 3 buyers then the first wave will go out. In order to get on the list I will need a deposit and I will discuss those details. MSRP on this kit is $4495. If I get 3 buyers I can do $3950 shipped on each kit. From the order time to ship time should only be a few weeks as I have already confirmed ordering status with Comptech. Start the list..

1.
2.
3.

Once I have a number of interested ones the GB will become official and I will discuss deposits.

Well before we talk about getting 10 people, let's find 3. If I get an overwhelming order then we can discuss further discounts. I will hold onto this price for as long as possible.

Ok, guys. I have seen enough interest in this thread to make it an official groupbuy. Comptech Supercharger Kit Groupbuy

The deposit will be 50% of the total. The reason for this is that it requires a lot of money to even purchase one unit, so several units will wipe out my bank account. So I have to have some cash flow up front to offset the final costs. Thanks.

I got 2 questions before I go through with the purchase.

Can we use our existing AEM intake or do we need to use comptechs intake in order for everything to fit right?

Also, will this void any factory warranties?

Thanks

What else would you recommend getting with this supercharger. Tranny cooler and after tranny cooler. I am pretty sure I read that you will need to get these two to keep your trans in good shape. Nice price, I am definately thinking about it.

if its like the exisiting s/c for the tl-s, it will include the comptech icebox, but im more than sure it is possible to put the CAI back on with some modification.

In this link they discussed modifying the AEM CAI to make it fit. Also, it really is up to the dealer whether the warranty is voided or not. There were some guys you had supercharged CL's/TL's on here who had full warranties and others who didn't.

It certainly can't hurt to get these. These will help keep the fluids at the proper temperature to avoid having them break down prematurely.

Exclamation

I have two issues with buying one- 1.) I have an intake manifold spacer, outlaw engineering thermoblock spacers-will they work or will I have to take them off. 2.) What about the throttle body spacer?
They are 'thermoblock' spacers, so they're probably only a 1/4 - 3/8 inches thick. So my throttle body sits a 1/4 inch too high, and a 1/4 inch too long? what do you think? will the pulley still be inline with the belt? will the belt still fit around the pulley?

You are correct. The manifold spacer will fit (I had it installed on mine) but the throttle body spacer will not.

Although it might fit if you're modifying the intake plumbing before the throttle body. Say if you were using a modified Injen intake. In your modifications you could plan for the different throttle body positioning.

So who really is ready to make this happen? There seems to be a lot of interest so let's make this a reality. For those of you who are interested what is holding you back from purchasing?

Well as of right now I am concentrating on getting the first 3 people. I have a few interested, and one who is ready to give a deposit. If I have more than 3 people then I can get the price slightly lower. However, MSRP on this kit is $4500 and it's going to cost at least $100 to ship the kit. I already have the price at $3950 shipped so at the most it might be $50-$100 less if I get more than 3 buyers.

Can we still utilize UR crank pulleys with the supercharger or would we need to retain the stock Acura crank pulley?

I think w/ a smaller crank pulley, you'll get less boost

It really depends on the shop you're going to go to. I'm assuming the labor hours will be pretty similar to what they were on the 2nd Gen CL/TL, which I believe (but I could be wrong) was about 10-12 hours. So I would assume the installation would range from $500-$750.

The Ultra S Crank pulley would reduce the amount of boost the charger makes so you would have to use the stock Acura pulley until UR releases the stock diameter Ultra SC 12 Volt Supercharger Pulley for the 04+ TL.
