Huh? I did all those mods years ago. SS clutch line, short shifter, weighted knob, shifter cable bushings + ziptie mod.

I'm saying in cold weather I throw a sock over my solid aluminum shift knob.

I know...but there was some thread somewhere a while back where you said the short shifter feels too precise and you could live without it (but not the hybrid bushing).

It wasn't as big of a change with the TL as it was say in a Teg or a Prelude IMO. But it's still nice. I'm not sure I'd do the short shifter without a weighted knob though. That does help with the 'notchy' feeling. Certainly a preference type mod.

I remember doing a ss swap on a GSR back in the day and it was like WHOA!

I did it right before the Winters started.

Let's meet up sometime when it gets warm.

SS is like night and day over stock. Anyone that doesn't feel that way needs to go to a nerve doctor to have their right arm checked out (unless hell JDM, then get left arm checked instead).

Used this guide to install my CT SS last night and it was an easy 2 hour process thanks to OP's awesome DIY! Car feels so much better! Debating on getting bushings next.

dont debate, it all helps the shifting experience. it's a much easier install too.

also make sure you get a weighted shift knob! my recommendation is pricey but IMO the best shift knob out there...raceseng slammer.

That shift knob looks nice and clean,I bet it's super effective too. I'll probably take the 520 gram Hybrid Racing shift knob out of my RSX and rock it in the TL to see how I like it.

Thanks for the diy! Just did this SS install yesterday. Just like instructions skipped taking off glove box, i skipped taking off everything left of center console. I just moved the side panels a little and was able to do everything. Also I did not separate the black vents from the metal silver bracket. I took it out and put it back in together. The pain in the butt were the metal clip and plastic clip holding the linkage. Cut myself 5 times trying to get those out. I also unbolted the whole yellow housing before undoing the little retaining pin, that way i could twist it to the side for easier access. When putting back together, I put that retaining pin back on first, before even putting the SS/ball inside of it. That way when i did attach SS ball into it, it clicked in and stayed there. Much easier I assume than trying to get it in there with housing in the way. Anyway, those are just my tips for anyone trying this. Thanks again, and good luck to anyone trying it. I definitely like it.

What is that piece called thats at the bottom of the shifter, that it goes into (pointed in Red) I’ve had mine pop out a few times. I wanna get this short shifter but I might need to replaced that piece if possible

SS CAUTION Shifter ball tip broken twice

What's good fam! I wanted to give you all a heads up about my experience with this short shifter. Like the title says the ball on the stock shifter has broken off twice in the past 8 years. literally about 4 year apart. I am not sure if im doing something wrong or if it's just wear and stress on the tip of the shifter, but I now have to replace the shifter assembly for the 2nd time. I think i will be taking mine off now. I will post pics when I fix it
