Can you bypass the passenger seat OPDS and weight sensor?

Can you bypass the passenger seat OPDS and weight sensor?
It's been over ten years since the car's out, I'd guess there's been a solution already, other than removing the entire srs computer.
I wonder why plugging in a resistor (like what you do to the airbag plugs) into the terminal doesn't work?

For me, my passenger seat leather ripped, I'm still not sure if I want to repair the leather (big rip) or install my other aftermarket seat.
I happen to own a pair of recaros from an older porsche and I'm already using the driver side for autocross, trackdays, and daily, thought I would make it a pair.
I understand the importance of airbags, not saying everybody should get aftermarket seats, but I love the driver side recaro especially it sits lower and gives me a lot more leg room, I'm 6'4.

I've heard otherwise; I've heard using resistors work.

Sorry to bring back an old dead thread. But I am having this issue with the passenger seat now after I removed the leather and heated seat element for a new one. I didn't realize the sensors were there so now I dont have them. Was there a bypass solution to this? I am checking the manuals but I don't see which pins we can jump to trick the weight sensor.

"Now you dont have one"? You dont have what? I am confused.
But there is no Bypass for anything on the airbag system. if you disconnect any part of the seat, then either the weight sensor light will be on or the Airbag light will be on.. or both..
It goes like this:
SRS unit -------------- OPDS unit ----------- Seat sensors.
If the OPDS unit is not happy then it will complain to the SRS unit.. And then the SRS unit will wave a red flag in your face on the cluster..

I have aftermarket seats and got the srs light to turn off, but it was a bitch. Trial and error cost me time and money because there's no information about it on acurazine

If you're just trying to get rid of the srs light, then you just have to go to a shop with a diagnostics tool to recalibrate the seats. But if you really do have a missing link in the srs system, the recalibration won't work and most shops charge to recalibrate regardless if it works or not. Looks like if you really want to get rid of the light you'll have to purchase used seat and have a shop calibrate it for you, but that's pretty expensive.
