Can someone bring me up to speed on J-pipes?
Hi everyone,
Owner of an '05 TL that I inherited from my wife with 88k on the clock now.
It appears that J-pipes are the #1 choice of bolt-ons for performance (over sound).
Can someone break down who is still making/selling them and how they perform against one another? I know there are quite a few (but older) threads on them.
If it matters any, I do live in California.
Thanks!

Essentially the stock pipe has the pipe from the front bank of the engine going rearward and the rear bank pipe just dumps into the side of it, there isn't really much of a merge at all, more of a "T":
While our J-pipe has equal length runners for each bank and a nice gradual merge bringing both banks together smoothly.:
You can click the above picture to go to the XLR8 V2 J-pipe page on our store or follow this link:
JPIPE-V2-UA67 - XLR8 J-Pipe - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist
The V2 J-pipe deletes the secondary un-monitored cat under the vehicle and should not cause any CEL's but please check local emissions laws before purchasing for a car you plan on using on the street. To keep your stock cat or add our high flow cat you can use the V1 found here:
JPIPE-UA67 - XLR8 J-Pipe - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist
And the high flow cat to be used with the V1:
HFC-UA67 - XLR8 High Flow Cat - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist
If you have any questions feel free to ask here or contact me directly.
Regards,
Justin

link of tests of all jpipes together posted below. i have to run a 3rd cat (high flow) so i've had both the xlr8 v1 and currently have the atlp v2. i love the atlp v2, good gains and tucks up nicely to be lowered car friendly!
