If you take a regular RSX which is 155 hp with a 0-60 about 7.1 sec and compare it to the RSX Type-S with is 201 hp with a 0-60 about 6.5 sec.
Both weigh about the same (2800 lbs)

You do the math.
BTW hate, what happened to Resident Scion Killer?

WOW the lack of knowledge here is great. I am finished debating this topic. Driving a car for 6 years and modding it, I know what it takes to make a car go down the track

There you go, read away.

Who are we kidding anyway. The TL is a High 14 second pig. Not a race car.

Somewhere the quotes on this thread have gotten messed up.

I agree though. 1/4 mile times too are very subjective. A high rpm car like the GSR and RSX are not the easiest things to get consistent times in. You have to launch perfect and take it to 8100 in each car + get traction. Also, altitude wrecks havoc on those little motors. Did the .5 drop take place at the same drag strip?

Case in point, I've seen/heard of stock GSR's running anywhere from 15.1 to 16.1. Its that big of a gap! All comes down to driver skill, maintance of car, and altitude. The OP could have added that CAI, launched better, and was at a strip that was lower altitude = that's your .5 right there.

Post number 4 on the first page of the above link. 13.8 with 213HP.

So thats 41Hp increase and a decrese of 1.2 seconds in the 1/4.

Thanks for playing.

Apparently acconding to the benchracing that takes place here, drag racing is simply 40 hp for .5.

Never mind the power curve right? Or the weight? or the traction? or the altitude? or the track prep? of the temp.?, or the time spent in each gear? Or the final drive ratio?

None of that matters right?

Nope apparently after all this time, all I should have been concerned with was getting that next 40Hp to knock off .5.

There is more to running a number then deep pockets and a heavy foot.

All my experiances were are Moroso Motor Sports park in Palm Beach Fl.

I am not the only one, as serveral of my friends saw similar if not better gains from the same mods.

I/H/E and ECU have netted people in the 13.5 ranger all day in an RSX, dynoing in the 210 range.

Again, why are you not providing mph info? I could add 0 hp and drop .5 seconds with drag radials.

Bench racing? Please.

Damn, this kid is all worked up now. Not even ten posts and his panties are all in a bunch.

Boosted, it's all good. I'm sure your RSX is an animal.

You're right, the TL is a 14 second pig and it is quicker than an RSX. Your 4 cylinder FWD econobox is not a race car either.

I would strongly suggest that you guys stop or this thread will be closed. This is about the flow to the CAI via the bumper cutout, not about the RSX track times. We don't need another thread like that braking one.

You're right. Back on topic. Cutting out the bumper will help air to the K&N and may or may not give you a power gain, certainly not .5 seconds.

You may get slightly cooler air into the bumper area with a cutout, but most likely the most noticeable difference would be more dirt and water directed toward your filter. I say it's better left alone.
