Brembo Slotted Rotors and Brakes Install Question

So I'm trying my first brake job since the stealership wanted $900 to replace my front rotors and brake pads on my 2006 TL (6MT) I picked up some Brembo Slotted Rotors and Brake Pads and attempting to install them. Couple of questions that I can't seem to find the right answer to (I've tried searching)

:

1. Do you reuse the shims on the OEM pads or just use it the way they were provided by Brembo (red shims).
2. Do you just grease the red shims on the backside of the pads? Should I grease anything else?
3. What size bolt do you need to remove the rotor? Is is a 8 x 1.25" bolts?
4. When I compress the caliper on one side the other side slightly comes back up. I opened the brake cap under the hood to relieve the pressure. I think I'm fine but just wondering if that's an issue.

Thanks for your help!

Brembo Slotted Rotors and Pads

Need to remove the old rotor. What size bolt? 8 x 1.25"?

New pads. Should I just grease the red shims with the Brembo grease?

use the ones provided with the new pads

grease the back side where it touches the pistons, thats it.

3. What size bolt do you need to remove the rotor? Is is a 8 x 1.25" bolts?
after the caliper comes off with the 2 19mm bolts on the back, take off the 2 philips screws on the front of the rotor(which you have already done, based on your pics), and the rotor is free. If its not loose at this point, just give it a light tap with a hammer and it should break the rust free.
4. When I compress the caliper on one side the other side slightly comes back up. I opened the brake cap under the hood to relieve the pressure. I think I'm fine but just wondering if that's an issue.
thats normal and harmless, however if you want to avoid that, use the proper piston retracting tool so it pushes all 4 pistons back at the same time.

Thanks Paperboy! I actually bought the 8x1.25 screws to back the rotor off. I finished the install yesterday and now need to find the time to bed them properly this weekend.

I bought these from Tire Rack for $354 (rotors were $285). Overall I'd say it was a pretty simple install. First side took longer since I wanted to double check everything. Second side was quick. Having the right tools makes all the difference in the world!
