the one he takes pictures of is a detailed model of one...
but the one he's buying is in NY or NJ or something, although I had a hard time following the story.

I’m not buying the NY TL. I bought a used one from a dealership in Seattle.

Since I’m flying to Portland through Seattle, I will skip my flight from SeaTac to PDX and take a 24 minute Uber
from Sea-Tac to the dealership in east Seattle. Sign the release paperwork and drive the car with wifey back to PDX airport to pick up our checked luggage(which will be at the “left and found” areas once we will be there two hours after our final destination flight comes in.

Its only a 15 minute ride home from there. Then it’s back to reality on Monday!

Does that 'reality' include the expedited install of the Rotrex?

I’ve been putting a lot of thought into that. Because of the condition and mileage of the car, I’m willing to drive it as is for some time. You know, enjoy it the way it was ment to be enjoyed.

Im worried that if I install the Gerzy Bear Performance goodness then I’ll expediatedly wear out the otherwise good clutch. Not sure yet. Whatchall think?

Thanks buddy! It’s important to do so. Otherwise, regrets and frustrations from unappreciated goals add up.

Come on brah!
With two to four jack stands, a couple of good hydraulic car jacks and the hand tools you already have in your garage, I bet a 'spring buck' like you could replace a 6MT clutch in 36hrs or less. Along with that time investment, if you purchase an appropriately researched/rated clutch/PP/FW package for the hp level the Rotrex will deliver, you'll be set and DONE.

Lol, thank you for the encouragement. I still have not picked it up from the dealers. It will be fun to drive with my wife, three airport bags, and four tires from Seattle to Portland.

I drove it every day as it is my only car. Put anywhere from 40-120 miles a day. And 450whp was low due to the auto trans which sucks a lot of power and the pistons lowering the compression. With E85, I was at 484whp. If it was a manual, I wouldn't doubt 540-560whp

Stock sleeves can hold their own. There are turbo Js holding more than 500whp on stock sleeves no problem . My case was unique and unfortunate...for the second time as the first rebuild I bent 4 rods. The Jseries service limit is +1mm bore btw.

Jeremy, I am overjoyed to finally have another 12 y/o automobile in the driveway. Really though, I just looked out and am in disbelief that it’s actually here.

I’m having a hard time convincing myself to modify this TLS.

It drives like a dream. Everything about it feels so sharp and crisp. The rowing of the gears is so smooth and effortless, while maintaining its integrity and rigidity.

If I modify this TL, I’ll feel like I’m ruining a near prestine example of the 6MT Type-S. I’d like to buy another TLS 6MT with higher mileage, 140-200k depending on maintainence history. It would allow me to daily this one, and install the GBP Rotrex into a well used unicorn. This plan would have me sell the Comptech due to space constraints. Someday I’d like to buy a house with a barn dive shop like all those fancy pants people in the countryside like Horseshoez.

On the other hand, I could install the Grizzly Gerzy Bear Performance system into this fine example and enjoy it. This would allow me to daily the Comptech TL. Which I strived to make reliable, because I picked fast and reliable.

Looks a lot better now, glad to hear it all worked out. As far as modding goes it'll be fine, boost with a 6mt would be fun. Just keep all your stock parts that you take off.

It’s only been 12 months since that fateful day when I bought a 2G Comptech Supercharger thinking I could make it fit onto my 3G.

To say the least, now you know to be wary of jonesing 'tweekers' bearing gifts looking for their next 'hot rail'.

Those people were scary. But luckily we have @gerzand to sell us high quality products through Gerzy Bear performance.

@rockstar143 it’s coming soon. The cup matches the 6MT.

I have been away from this forum for a while, did any SC get installed?. Forced induction is a lot of fun on the TL, the only downside I have experienced is the need for a more high performance clutch which takes some of the smoothness out of driving that I liked from the car. I loved the whine and extra 100 WHP of the Comptech SC, but the additional 500 whp the turbo provides is slightly wining out. Big HP in the TL is a lot of fun, very expensive but a lot of fun. Nobody expects the car to move the way it does and there is pretty much no one who can touch you. It does make the car most impressive at freeway speeds but pulling on anything like they hit the brakes is fun. Since turbo is not really an option anymore the SC is the way to go. Don’t be discouraged but the Comptech haters 100 whp increase really transforms this car especially with a 6 speed.

No rust or oxidation on anything.

The calm before the storm.

A/C radiator all gone!

A/C radiator and fan ready for storage.

Removed plenum

Always serviced at Acura.

I installed the Comptech Sports S/C, currently installing Rotrex on another vehicle.

why is turbo not an option anymore?

The car is doing great, both the engine and transmission are holding up perfectly. I am running 24 psi at this point so I’m far above my 500 whp start point.
I don’t slam gears and only get into boost once the clutch is engaged so the stock transmission is doing well. The car is really a beast and will smoke the tires well into triple digits. I love it, full sleeper status and more WHP than most super cars all wrapped in a amazing looking luxury wrapper.

To answer the question about the turbo no longer being an option. I have been out of the Acura scene but know only 15 ish P2P kits made and not many members are willing to part with such a nice kit.

This rotrex is my turbo. Someday I’ll upgrade the engine components and put on a larger Rotrex unit.
