Best intake and sound for my car

Im obviously new to this and just wanted to know what kind of intake should i buy for my car ? what do you guys/girls think is good and also for my exhaust mod what should i get ? Im looking for something good and reliable

if your main goal out of this car is for sound, any cold air intake system will work.
as all it is, is just a piece of pipe.

I wouldnt do a short ram intake because you'll be sucking up hot air and hot air isnt great for performance, when your stock TL comes with a cold air intake system.

to me, spending 200-300 dollars on a piece of aluminum pipe that doesnt do anything is a waste of money.

i did a free modification that allows me to have more air intake sound, by cutting off the intake resonator and attaching the stock pipes back on turning it into a FULL cold air intake.

J-pipe should be your first mod, not an intake.

I bought an AEM V2 Cold Air Intake and the XLR8 J-Pipe, and my car sounds awesome! I have gotten nothing but compliments on mine!

Same mods, my son now wants an AEM v2 for his Prelude after hearing it on my car.

Had the AEM v2 on my Prelude. Loved how mean it made the 'Lude sound. (I did eventually sell the v2 for a JDM Type-S intake).

I briefly considered a v2 for my TL. I'm sure it would make it sound meaner, but with no performance gains I didn't think it would be worth the money. Plus the hissing might sound nice on a sporty 2-dr...but I felt it would be out of place on a more mature car like my TL-S.

anyone know how much louder the aem v2 intake is in comparison to the intake resonator delete mod on the stock intake?

I recommend the AEM V2 intake. It offers the largest diameter tubing and quality components.

I'd say twice as loud.

^but totally not worth $280 for.

Do you have a link to the free DIY?

Ya I wouldn't get any intake. I got one, doesn't do much but sound

Intake resonator delete (free)
Stage 2 or 3 exhaust (about $130)
Use that money for the intake on a J-Pipe ($375)

BOOM. Great sound.

I just changed from an intake resonator delete to the V2. I found the delete to sound the best around the 2500-4000 rpm range, I did not really notice it above or below that. The V2 sounds the best above 3500 and sounds awesome right to redline. You can hear the vtec changeover which is something i never noticed with the res delete. I know that it is doubtful i gained much in terms of power but it feels like it did to me and that's all that really matters. In my opinion it is worth it if you have the money. It has a good resale value so it isn't as expensive as it seems.
