Does anyone know where I can buy the OEM 2008 TL Type-S exhaust?
If not, I'm looking for a new exhaust to put into my 5speed A/T. I want the quad tip that gives me good performance and a nice note. I don't want people miles away to hear my exhaust, but I want it to sound decent with a nice kick to it. I don't mind getting the TypeS bumper either.

I will have my stock type S exhaust, and stock J pipe up for sale very soon. I just installed RV6 J pipe, and ATLP catback. I love it!! Oh yeah, and I have pcd for Richie on the way. Someone else has already asked for pictures so the it may be sold, but I will post for sale tonight or tomorrow.

catback exhaust
if performance is the name of the game.
Pre-cat-deletes and jpipe would be the first mods to do.
they gain the MOST.
a catback doesnt gain as much as these two.
you can do:
Pre-cat-deletes-->Jpipe--catback exhaust.
but realize that there are drawbacks to each mod.
I suggest you read up on these mods. Do your homework.
the only manufacture that sells the pre-cat deletes is RV6 Performance.
Richie also makes a high flow cat.
Now, we have two options for jpipes. we have XLR8 and RV6. Both Delete the 3rd cat.
the jpipe is the safest of the mods, as there are no drawbacks.

Im lookin for an exaust as well and am not quite sure what to get, so far my current mods are richies jpipe and precat deletes and a magnaflow resonator. Which is exaust would suit my setup the best? Im aiming for something that i can get power out of as well as a nice deep note.

But seriously guys, please at least keep one cat on your car, even if it's a high-flow one. Our engines produce non-aromatic toxic waste such as methane gas that could severely harm your loved ones. Not to mention all of the other carcinogenic gas that isn't broken down in the absence of a catalyst. I'm all for freeing up power, but please don't do PCD + race pipe on your daily driver. I'm getting the HFPCs myself because 200cells at 3 cylinders is better than 0 cells at 3 cylinders. I need to investigate more about how smart it would be to couple my HFPCs with a race pipe before I pull the trigger.

How about stage 2 or 3 stock setup for around $100?
There are people like me who don't want to spend a grand on an exhaust system because we don't need that extra power for the dragstrip.

im running a whole custom setup and im in love with it. I agree with the goals completely. I started out with a stage 4 exhaust despite the mixed reviews, i loved the way it sounded. i was bored one day and took of the 2 end mufflers, now that shit was seriously loud, i was louder than Ferraris on clearwater beach no lie. but then i went and put netami high performance end mufflers on the back and i love it. now ive done a atlp v2 test pipe and over the summer i have my car scheduled to get a custom 3 inch true dual exhaust set up. just gotta find a place to reflash my ecu in tampa now

There's a lot of different opinions on the exhaust type. I got a 07 TLS AT5 and want to know what is the best set to get the most performance. All I got done is AEM CAI, 1.2" drop, 19" TSW.

XLR8 Performance Exhaust System are designed for function, form and style. Each exhaust system starts with T-304 stainless steel, known throughout the industry as the highest quality material practical for after-cat exhaust applications. All exhaust tubing is mandrel bent on sophisticated CNC machinery for a precise fit and uninterrupted exhaust flow. What’s more, the use of T-304 stainless steel flanges offers high strength and complete resistance to harsh elements. All hangers, resonators, and tips are T-304 stainless steel as well.
The mufflers used are built specifically for each system and are designed in accord with years of racing and street development invested into the design. Each muffler is tuned to match its application for the best possible performance gain and sound quality combination. Each muffler is polished to a high gloss beautiful finish; the rest of the stainless steel system is finished in a natural satin finish. The mufflers for this system are fitted with Purge Resonance Technology, a technology which significantly reduces drone (low speed exhaust note created at low RPMs).

Pretty much anyone that wants high flow cats on this forum is buying the RV6 HFPC (on sale right now for about $550), and I would recommend you do the same if you're looking for a legal option for replacing the stock cats.

As far as headers are concerned I believe that is not an option. Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure they are built into the engine block and cannot be removed. As far as performance for dollar I have heard nothing but good things about the RV6 J-pipe and the gains are supposed to be pretty good.

Why has no one said turbos or supercharges? Those will be the best bang for your $$$$!!!
But like most people said I would go with the Jpipe first. Also the AEM V2 intake will be the best intake!! (Just ordered mine a few days ago)

Go with atlp j pipe and keep your 3rd cat. What's wrong with the stock cat back? I love the type s quad tips so I'd keep the stock cat back

MODS for TYPE S
you guys can keep sugggesting suggestions.
but until we know what the OP wants, everything is just clutter.
He needs to know what he wants out of the exhaust.
the point of modding is to have a clear set of goals.
without a goal, you're just throwing parts at the car, sometimes wasting money doing it over again.
