Best Acura TL exhaust system?

[QUOTE=justnspace;13551612]First, Understand our exhaust system.
Then, ask your self what do you want out of the exhaust.
There is no BEST.
BEST is subjective.
this is how our stock system looks like.
Primary cats-->Jpipe-->3rd cat-->stock exhaust.
So, what do you want out of the exhaust?
a deeper note?
performance?
both?
or just sound?[/QUOTE
new type s owner only thing im missing is HP mods..correct me if im wrong
ATLP JPIPE would replace factory JPIPE...RACE PIPE would replace 3RD CAT?? and V2 catback exhaust will obviously replace stock exhaust??

bringing this back from the dead, I just read through most of this thread.
What if a fella just wanted something with more of growl/yet close to stock? What would you guys recommend. After driving a built motor STi with a 3" catless exhaust and wastegate for 5yrs, I'm LOVING the quietness of the TL's cabin. However I still kinda want it to have a deeper tone. I have an 05 base A/T.

I'm looking at putting the RV6 V3 PCD and J pipe on my 08 base model TL, I'd also like to put the RV6 Catback exhaust on it but can't seem to find anywhere that has it in stock and would ship to Canada. Wondering if anyone knows where I could find one. If not wondering what is preferred exhaust by people running a similar setup. (I'm also aware that I will need the TLS rear bumper or A spec) Thanks

Good recommendations for an Exhaust System set up?
So I have a 2010 TL Manual 6 Speed. I want to put an Exhaust System set up with loudness but some performance as well. What could be a good set up? I Love the sound of the XLR8. I live in Cali so I prefer a set up that passes smog no problem. Also best air intakes to go with the set up?

Glad you hear you like our system! Our cat-back exhausts don't effect oxygen sensor or catayitc converter placement. This means you don't need a tune to run them, and they won't throw a check engine light! Both of these things together means you should pass emissions! I don't live in CA so I'm not 100% positive on all the laws/regulations, so I don't want to make any promises, but there really shouldn't be any issues. Keeping your stock components is always a good idea just in case!
You really need a Jpipe/HFPCs (and a tune) if you want to pickup the maximum power gain, but none of those pieces are CARB approved, and you will run into trouble with those come smog time as they are less restrictive than the OEM pieces.
As far as the intake goes, that is something that needs CARB approval as well. A higher flowing filter will have an effect on emissions. With that being said the K&N Typhoon would be your best bet. That is CARB approved in California, and can be seen on our site here: 69-1210TS - K&N Intake Kit - Typhoon System Cold Air - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!

What Sharky said....you will not regret this purchase!!!
As far as exhaust if you want best Brand exhaust that gives good power I say go with RV6 TD Exhaust(yes what I have)...Downside to this is you will be waiting a bit for a second batch.....
If you are not looking to wait then I would go with XRL8 exhaust!!!
3rd Option is follow InAccurate's thread on the custom set-up and be happy with the route as well as there was good gains from that as well...Just all depends on how much access and know abouts you have on where to go for custom set-up
But in the End here is my recommendation
what are you 6mt or 5at ?? yes makes a big difference
but the following are what you are aiming to get
- RV6 PCD's (a must)
- J-pipe there is a thread from Mr.Heel-Toe who is working on ATLP V2R that is suppose to make more power then all J-pipes currently offered so I would follow that thread closely
- JnR ECU ...I would get this before a cat-back as you will make more with this then a catback....I believe a member on here 07BLKTLS made 285whp with just PCD, J-pipe and still with OEM catback!!! and this was (5at)
- Then I would focus on cat-back exhaust!!!
- AEM CAI seems to be the weapon of choice here for Cold air systems!!!
- Pulley, P2R TB spacer, P2R IM spacer, P2R egr delete (although this one will give you CEL)...these will give you some bumps in whp (not much so these should be last on list)
- then you have your free mods which is weight reduction anywhere you think possible yes including yourself..lol not saying your a big dude but you get the point!!!
- cooling mods which help keep motor cool and far away from dreaded heat soak!!!
- Then after you have accomplished all this and you are still not satisfied it's time for the real money spending and options are as follows:
- Boost in form of either Turbo, Nitrous(JnR set-up should seem interesting) standby on that one!!!
- Camshafts ect!!!
well that's my hope that helps you out some!!!
