ATLP V2R J-Pipe and Rv6 PCDs

Just put in the j pipe. Those exhaust bolts were no joke! Had to go out and buy a set of sockets for stripped nuts and bolts. Anyway, install went well. Got it done in about 4 hours. Also, didn’t know what to do with the hanger, but came across a thread on here that just helped me figure out what to do with the last two parts in the box.

As far as performance, the power and feels smoother and car definitely feels lighter. The stock j pipe was so heavy compared to the ATLP piece. However, I guess I was expecting more noticeable power? Maybe I need to complete the whole system before I make my judgments.

PCDs will go in the week of Christmas. Also, I’ll take better pics next week. Gotta take my car in to get something checked out so I’ll wait to get it on a lift.

PS I have an AV6 but thought I’d share anyway.
PPS I attached a sound clip which was directly after I put it in.

it takes about 30hp to "feel" in a 3400lb car. you'll feel more improvement once the PCD's go on!

congrats on the install! enjoy the sound and "lighter" feeling of the "go" pedal!

Thanks for the tip. That makes sense. I forget sometimes that my car is fat...until I turn at least. My last car was a civic si and when I put a race header on I felt it right away. I like knowing I have a quality part and i love the way it sounds so far. Can’t wait for the PCD install!

in my 6MT TL, the PCDs and Jpipe, allowed me to pull on a stock 6MT TL in third gear.
1st and 2nd gear were drivers race, depending on who kept in vtec longer, but once i hit third gear vtec, I pulled.

Thanks for that. That gives me a realistic sense of what these bolt ons will do. I’ll update when I get the PCDs on.

Just a quick update. After driving it for a couple weeks it definitely took time to break in or something. Acceleration is definitely up. PCDs go in next week

That sounds dam good! I want that! doesn't have that tinny, raspy, whiny, spitty sound.

When are you installing them? My RV6 HFPC are arriving in the next two weeks.

I'm curious how the sound will differ from the first sound clip. Make a couple clips if you would be so kind.

After you install the PCDs, it might feel like your bottom end fell flat. When I had mine installed all the low end power seemed to really not be there anymore. I'm not sure if this is due to back pressure loss but the top end will really scream.

Man I hope I don’t lose low end having full bolt ons! But the top end is where I feel it needs the most improvement anyway. I was going to install them last week, but I ended up helping my friend with his exhaust...which ended up to be a disaster and it took all day. So I just need to find another open weekend.

something funny is going on with quotes and editing....

but here the dyno shows that I made around 200lbs of tq at 2.5k RPM
while Emmanuel made 160something lbs of tq at 2.5k RPM

at the time my only mods were PCDs and Jpipe.
Emmanuel was bone stock.
Both cars are 6MT

Finally got them in. Had to take my car to my local shop for the rear one. I got super stuck and ran out of time. I haven't really had time to drive alot with them, but I can say right off the bat I can feel alot more pick up. My car feels so much more awake and I can't wait to see how it improves as my car adjusts to the new airflow. As far as the sound....I'll post something this week. I havent heard it from the outside, but I am detecting some rasp for sure. But hey thats what you get when you remove the cats.
