ATLP test pipe vs RV-6 J-Pipe

whats the point of getting the whole j pipe when you can just get the test pipe. the gains would come from deleting the 3rd CAT so can someone justify that the j pipe would be better. is it just a larger diameter than stock?

Yes, it is a larger diameter. It is also engineered to improve flow and reduce the restriction that is inherent in the stock j-pipe. If you look at the two side by side it's a bit more obvious.

This is the RV6 v3 but other pipes work on the same principle. For some reason Acura used a pipe that is quite restrictive, especially on the outlet from the rear cylinders. In addition, each outlet has its own dedicated pipe rather than sharing one like in the stock. This is probably why the jpipe is considered one of (if not the) best bang for the buck mod for the TL.

J-pipe adds 10-15 hp. The J-pipes are bolt on and deletes the 3rd cat.

J-pipe wouldn't be useless, if you added HFPC or deleted cats you'd just add to the performance.

The HFPC's are great. Here's my review:

No, I've never dyno'd. Just go by the seat of my pants really

What about Emission restrictions?

Can this setup pass emissions in the state of AZ?

Not if they know what to look for! Only modifications after the cats are legal
