it is better to do all the exhaust mods at the same time because they all connect together in this order (precats, jpipe, catback). those parts are all bolt on, so you dont need to weld anything. just simply unbolt the old and bolt on the new. pre-cat deletes attatch to the engine, j pipe connects from the precats to the catback, finally atlp catback from the jpipe to the rear of the car.

btw this is deleting all 3 cats on the car, which will be raspy, and smelly, and illegal! aftermarket resonators should take care of the rasp, but the only thing you can do about the smell is either keep the precats (dont buy precat deletes), or get a high flowing 3rd cat and ATLP V2 j-pipe instead of the RV6 V3 jpipe

All mods you mentioned are direct bolt-ons and work with one another.

if you are worried about smog check, get the atlp quad and the atlp v2 jpipe only. you will definitely pass smog with those mods.

Um, how so when they are the best power for the buck? They make roughly the same power as RV-6s new exhaust for so much less.

To the OP: Yes, you can. I'm running RV-6's V2 J-Pipe, Race Pipe (3rd Cat Delete), followed by ATLP.

I fail to see how that makes them dumb. I don't care for stereo mods, but I don't think they're dumb due so....

ummm yeah.. wtf??? Lol

Imma help u out tho. Precats give great performance gains, but they make your car really stinky, and problems with engine light coming on. Sounds like a big hassle but if you want performance, PCD will deliver.

just a heads up, im running rv6 v3 with atlp base (basically same as quad but different tip). Anyways.. huge problem with rasp. Sounds great until you gun it, then raspy as hell If you dont want rasp you might want to look into atlp j&race pipe. Everyone says they dont rasp, (I dont have so I cant confirm)

umm yeah actually here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=754696&page=8

read post 301, vid in 290. You can kinda hear if you turn up ur speakers. When I gun it, its like constant rasp, not really a fan. I like the deep note before the rasp

I understand what they do. I also know that they are good for what you pay for, it is just a mod I don't like. I'd rather not have the stink and CEL and wait for the Pre Hi Flow Cats made by RV-6. It all personal preference. They aren't dumb, yes I posted it incorrectly, big deal.

yah i see what you mean, but i kinda like it. im guessing your atlp is non-resonated? at least you get the deep tone while driving around and the rasp only when you get on the throttle. i wish the greddy had a little more of that sound, but i have heard the greddy with the PCD and the rasp is 10x worse than yours! i wouldnt do it on my car lolz

2004-08 all tails are universal within those years for the TL. theres 3 OEM types: base 04-06, base 07-08, and type-s 07-08 tails (type-s are the sexiest).

Rv6 V3 j pipe gets you 15 more whp. I don't know about anyother j pipe.

the version 1 2 and 3 are different design The RV6 j-pipe v3 has the best gain but it'll replace your cat so you wont pass smog check

I believe it's more about progress in design and performance. like the iphone first generation, second generation, 3rd, etc..., it progressivly gets better in design and performance. RV6 didn't just come out with all 3 versions at the same time, they odvously came out one after the other with more and more improvements.

true but the important part is the v3 deletes the 3rd cat and the other two versions don't. therefor the v3 won't pass smog in ca if they do a visual test

If they do a visual inspection where you live, you'll fail. If not, you'll pass. I had mine done right after the 3rd cat delete & passed just fine.

Ya, Rick beat me to it. I think most states won't due a visual inspection, unless they suspect something. I'm sure Cali's check is a huge pain in the ass, and they will check. With pre-cat deletes, you will definitely fail. And unless you have someone who will override it, you will most likely be changing them every year for inspection.

rv6 performance

i love pcd's i would not hesitate to do them again, the smell is yummy reminds me my car is not stock its not really that smelly where you feel high everytime you drive i dont understand why people think they smell so bad, id say my favorite smells in the world would be gas, roses, and burning rubber.
i am also running pcds rv6 v2 soon to be v3 (just have to take care of some other mods first,) with a custom magnaflow catback, at first rasp was unbearable but then i added a 24inch resonator and their is almost no rasp and to me sounds like sex.
op if i were you i would buy richies v3 jpipe, pcd's and richies catback i wish i woulda waited a month to make my catback thats what i would have
