ATLP exhaust at highway cruising speed?
Can someone post a video of how your TL (preferably 3.2 since that's what I have) sounds cruising at 70 on the highway? Or if you have an auto, cruising at about 2300-2500 rpm?
There are plenty of vids that showcase the beautiful sound that exhaust makes on acceleration, but not too many showing what in-car highway cruising sounds like. I've done a lot of searches and haven't come across anything that directly relates to this.
Thanks!

The exhaust itself is very well made and upon the initial install i really like it as everybody else would. Because most of us who get an exhuast like to test it out a little bit before returning to normal driving . As you mentioned already it really does sound good when you push it but when one day i just drove to work it drove me nuts because how much drone it was producing. Its so loud that you cant even listen to music comfortably.
I just couldnt justify the noise for anything else... as a matter of fact i even lost some low end torque which when driving normaly sucked.
the bottom line if you are sensitive to a drone and such then i would not recommend it.

If you dont want a loud noise then you can just get the $67 dual exhaust that alot of people are getting and do a mid muffler delete and a stage mod. This is what i might do instead of getting a ATLP exhaust even though i love it

I had it and sold it one week later...and here is why

Did anybody else experience this?
Also, did you have the non-res or resonated version? TIA.

I did have the original, i didnt even know you could get the resonated version when i was buying it. Lets say i felt like i lost some low end torque, i never put it on a dyno tough. Maybe it just felt slower of the line since all the noise was there but i wasnt going anywhere much
None the less i still belive it was a little slower starting out, even some guys reported how they could not spin the tires like they used too.

The drone in the cabin is some what loud but I don't mind it. When cruising at high speeds as long as ur rpms stay the same the drone isn't noticeable. I can't even hear the exhaust really. I love the ATLP Quad Exhaust set up, I also have the test pipe and j pipe V2. IMO, the shit sounds sexy!! Lol

I've got my ALTP V2 with resonator installed on a 2008 Type-S automatic. On the highway and crusing speeds the thing is nearly as quiet as stock. Low RPMS can be fairly loud, but it sounds amazing... the tone is very controllable by the way you work the throttle. In my opinion, the sound (resonated version) is just perfect, not annoying or too loud at any time.

I've had it on the 3.2 MT6spd. Had it on for 3 weeks and had it removed and sold, I had the RESONATED one and it still drone....not alot but bad enough to annoy me. But is definately well made I would of loved it if I was 18years old and no kids. Damn bought new $1200 sold for $765.00 lol..

I'm going through the same shit now, except at a lower cost scale.
I originally built a magnaflow custom exhaust, went out and bought Aero parts. Not sure if I like the results. Keep adding cans but the sound isn't to my liking. So now I'm looking at the cost of magnaflow mufflers.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else. I got the ATLP v2 quads WITH resonator and drone doesn't bother me at all. I have 6mt, so it is easier to control drone.

I had my ATLP v2 quad with resonator installed on my 07 TL-S 6MT last Saturday. I love the throaty exhaust sounds when driving around town! But I drive 100 mostly freeway miles each day and the cabin drone especially between 2400-2700 RPM/70-75mph is driving me nuts. I'm going to give it about a month to fully break-in, but the way things are going I'll be putting the stock exhaust back on soon.

I agree with the statement on how the drone is very controllable with how you work the throttle. it was annoying when i first go it but now that ive had it for a few weeks im starting to understand how to control it and its honestly quite easy. ive got the ATLP j-pipe race pipe and base btw
