Anyone experience with Takeda or any cold air intake???

I'm planning to get a cold air intake, but still not sure what to get. I heard Takeda is reliable. I'm looking for a cold air intake that is good for daily driving, somewhat loud, good air filter so I won't have to replace it every week. Does anyone want to give me some idea or their experience?? Thanks.

Takeda intakes are reliable, since their from aFe.

Any intake would be fine IMO. Be creative, make a custom, carbon fiber one

Cold air is ok, but I prefer the short ram. Custom cut the lower air box behind the bumper to scoop air up and push it to the air filter. Cheap, reliable, and more throttle response with less air pipe to go through.

Also, short ram intake allows you to "accidentally" go through deep water without killing the engine. Still! be carefull

There are a decent amount of CAI choices available for our car as princelybug stated. All make noise however I believe (not positive on this) the AEM V2 is the loudest at WOT. The choice is yours! Search the site to find more answers.

Yep they all pretty much do the same. The are all way over priced at around $250. I would suggest you try to make one. The Takada is a decent brand but most on here prefer the AEM.

So out of all the cold air intakes, the most reliable one for daily driving is the Takeda? Correct?

I know you have the AEM V2, but I want to ask you this. Is this CAI good for daily driving? Is it reliable, without giving me any trouble? Also does it come with a good filter?

I called Josh from Excelerate the other day, he told me that Takeda is the only reliable brand out there. Also will I pass inspection if I have a cold air intake in my car. I know that some CAI are not CARB legal. Please confirm this. Thank you.

Is the AEM V2 CAI available for the 04 TL? Also are they legal and will it pass inspection? Also how hard is it to clean the filter, do I have to take off the whole front bumper?

CARB is CALIFORNIA air resource board.

Are you in California? If not, I recommend you find some one who know the inspection laws in your state and ask if the intake will pass.

Asking a bunch of random people who don't know the inspection procedure or pass/fail laws in your state isn't going to be very helpful.

Go with AEM. Won't affect emissions. Great for daily driving. You don't need to remove front bumper to access filter, only install. Filter works great, no oil on filter like K&N.

No prob. Plus their customer service is great. All AEM CAI's are guaranteed for life. My mounting bracket broke off my tube last week after 3 years leaving a quarter size hole in my tube. (partly my fault) I sent pics to AEM (not even a receipt) and I got a new on in the mail the same day for free. Def keep receipt for anything guaranteed for life though!

I didn't remove my front bumper to install my AEM and the AEM filter is washable.

I called Josh from Excelerate the other day, he told me that Takeda is the only reliable brand out there <-- did he quantify this? Doesn't look any different or better than the AEM.
