wow expecting much? You'll need to remove as much of the center console as it takes to get the four bolts out, replace the bushings and bolt everything back down.

might as well buy a comptech short shifter while you're at it being you'll be in there anyways for the base bushings.

btw, the base bushings do next to nothing for the shifting feel. The cable bushings are nice, especially when combined with the short shifter.

What do you mean, base bushings? The four posts underneath the shifter assembly? If so I wasn't aware anyone made them for our car. Also, I'm not entire sure they would be recommended.

Weighted knob, short sifter, solid cable end link bushings. That is the combo you want.

OP follow the instructions in the above thread to take the console out. just place the metal bushings in place of the OEM rubber ones.

Maharajamd- the bushings he should have got are for the RSX. I have them in my car. They don't do a whole lot unless you slam it into gear. All they do is reduce the flex in the shifter assembly

I know what they are and do and I figured they had to either come from an RSX or a TSX. My point is, I believe many would argue that you do not want that kind of rigidity in the bushings in that area.

This is straight off the product listing from a certain reputable parts dealer....
Astute readers will notice the xxxxxxxxxx package does not include shifter base bushings, as replacing these will serve only to increase the level of vibration and discomfort of the driving experience, detracting from the high-end nature of your Honda/Acura.

^ i ono the ziptie mod made it really hard to get into gears. I couldn't get into R. Takes me 3 times to just have it go in. Not sure if anyone else is having that issue.

Also tried it, our R is super far out from where our shifter base sits so it's kind of uncomfortable to push it into R. Especially since the boot is already super short and struggles to get into gear.

Every dealer is going to have their own opinion. I have noticed a very slight vibration but nothing major. I have a a cut down shifter. Mine sits about 1.25 inches lower than stock. I also have a Ricks S2000 Voodoo Weighted/countersunk shift knob and a CT engineering short shifter. It's an amazing combo

I agree, before I got my countersunk knob and cut my shifter down every time I put it in reverse I would pull the boot from the know. It was extremely annoying.

The Corsports are solid whereas the hybrid racing bushings have a spherical bearing. So they are solid and yet not. Actually, it's just the large bushing that has the bearing, the small one is just solid.

I have them and I have to say I can't imagine how there would be a difference between the hybrids and any other solid bushing. But what do I know.

The ideal drive train modding to me would be...

- Weighted non-countersunk knob (Maven, Voodoo etc)
- Comptech short shifter
- Solid end link bushings (Hybrid, CORSport, etc)
- GM Syncromesh FM Tranny Fluid
- Slave cylinder check valve delete mod
- OPTIONAL: SS clutch hose and fresh OEM fluid
- OPTIONAL: If you count this as drive train....Torque damper...
