Alternative Brake rotors

I am hearing that mrheeltoe is setting up a group buy soon for racing brake rotors for the 3G TL 6-spd with brembos within weeks. I am wondering if there are any other alternatives to racing brake or the oem brembo calipers 1-piece or 2-piece?

The Endless website for the US market is not up yet for me to check if they have anything available. I can't think of any other alternatives of an upgrade. I am in the market for new rotors all around and pads to match with them.

it seems as if there are NO alternatives for us 6-spd Brembo owners..

Racing brake seems to be the only place to get new rotors for us and they will only be 2 piece and close to $600 buck. They will not make 1 piece rotors.

Except for the rear rotors which you can get one piece in either slotted or slotted and cross drilled for unde $200

Our only hope is that heltoe has a groupbuy setup and we can get a deal on front and rear at the same time to save some money....

Damn they would look superhot though,,, no more rusted rear rotors on the TL just need to paint the rear calipers to match the front and you are done

Mr Heel Toe is working closely with Racing Brake and has a gen3 car ready to do a full pics and details install- as soon as RB makes them appear

Marcus says as soon as he has the right parts in hand- it will be posted in the sponsored sales- group buys section of this forum
Fear not- when you can buy them- he will let you know

What I want to know is how a 3gen car is going thru brakes so fast!

They sure have a lot of designs. I wonder if half of them are even useful, design wise?

JP, or anyone else, if you have that kind of scratch the throw on brakes, please consider the racingbrake product first. I know nothing of those ebay rotors, but the fact that thier called "commuter" series implies enough to me that that they are not high performance oriented rotors. They appear to be OEM knockoffs that have been machined... which usually is no good for performance or longevity.

Sure, do you "need" high performance rotors? probably not, but if I'm spending virtually the same amount of money, might as well invest in a high quality performance product vs. an expensive "performance look" product.

I personally can't wait for the heeltoe GB. Before you commit to any rotor purchase, call marcus and get his spiel on the racingbrake product...

full tech info and why Racing Brake is the brand to buy can be found at www.racingbrake.com

See the minor and major things that are upgrades over stock and over other aftermarket names

Put them on all your cars.

yeah Marcus has been helpful with his pm's too so I can't wait for these damn rotors to be realeased from the group buy. this sucks because i'm at 48k miles and all 4 rotors are warped now and the crappy part is all 4 are too thin to be turned. man this isn't even a mod i'm doing but now a necessity with upgraded parts!

Keep a close eye on those rotors at the drill holes
Depending on the type of chamfering- they can be prone to cracks- and many of them below the surface- spells disaster
And what are the pads made of?

They may work fine for general use- or they may need to be replaced soon
Keep us advised- other ebay rotors buyers came back after 6-12 months no longer happy about their purchase

Rotora- from Excelerate- has a 1 piece slotted rotor for the 6MT with Brembo fronts
they also have the rears slotted with their own brand of pads now!

Racing Brake makes the 2 piece lightweight front rotors and will not be making a 1 piece
The 2 piece rotor allows you to fully use those big Brembo calipers!!
The rear 1 piece rotors are under product change and will be back in stock soon

A group buy is when 20 or more people put money up front for something coming from japan, not 1 or 2 people want rotors for discount

Keep a close eye on those rotors. Poorly machined rotors tend to develop minute cracks that aren't visible to the naked eye. However those tiny cracks then develop into surface cracks that are clearly visible. And as we all know, cracks in metal, and esp metal that is stopping your car, aren't a good thing.

I know that I am bringing this back, but did you ever install those rotors and pads on your TL?
