There are a lot of discussions about building s custom exhaust but not a lot about specifics regarding the cat-back and the axle-back diameter of the pipes.

Looking at the stock exhaust (not having a caliper to measure), the cat-back piping appears to be 2 1/4" OD and the axle-back looks like 2" OD.

Does anyone know for sure if this is correct?

Can anyone tell me what a Comptech exhaust uses for tubing sizes?

And last, what are the specs of the exhaust for people who have custom built their cat-backs.

i posted a thread to ask about j pipe and cat back sizing, but noone answered....I'm interested in doing from the j pipe back with new mufflers, but i would like to get feedback on sizing...i dont want to lose HP by going too big....

i deleted the third cat and made a flange 2.5" all the way back to the mufflers. i'm using apex'i ws2 mufflers. there's two dynomax 2.5 race mufflers (resonators). real quiet, except for slight resonance in the cabin at low rpm, screams like a lil japanese girl at wot. i'll get pics up later today.
