AEM V2 or Injen CAI
Hey guys, so I am about to do my first mod on my car and I don't know what to do. I decided that I want to add a CAI but now which one? Many people have the AEM V2 and the Injen and I was wondering if I could get some people's input and opinions.
I have been reading that the AEM V2 has some squealing around 2.5 RPM which isn't that appealing. But I haven't heard anything at all about the Injen. I have an Auto 2004 TL. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys.

I know i read that thread because i started that one. But the thing is they are saying get Injen because it is cheaper but i want to know other pros and cons of each. I can get the AEM V2 for around 280 and the Injen is coming out to around 270 from what i quickly looked at. So what are the comparisons of each? And i specifically want to know about the sound difference. If the AEM and Injen both have a squealing problem, thats something I need to know.

i didnt realize... lol and i told you...i gave u pros and cons on both...post #16 on the other thread
queeling would be from a torn filter or loose clamp.....also sometimes there's this other issue...the mounting bracket on either one, could rip off, or crack where its welded on the tube...resulting in squealing, as the crack or hole for that matter, allows air to be sucked through there.... the tube is weaker than the bracket.. while the bracket wont break....it might just end up cracking the tube...if this did happen to anyone, they prob never even knew where it came from exactly, bcs who would think there's a small crack by the mounting bracket? theyd rather just blame the name "aem squeals like a pig"
this may have never happened to anyone, but it happened to me lol...and i believe it was from exessive suspension stiffness, and bumpy roads, causing the CAI dance around, till the bracket snapped off where its welded, leaving a hole on the tube...and that's after 5 years of the CAI being on the car

So you are saying that it could happen to either CAI? And which would you say has a better sound then? Or do you know of a good Injen video because I have heard the AEM so many times but i cant find the Injen.

i think ur putting way too much effort into it... if u were trying to decide between either one and a CAI found inside autozone, then id tell u...injen or aem hands down.... injen will give u a sharper sound, while aem will growl a bit more due to the slightly larger size piping.... but also, a filter makes a difference too... i explain the point of both of them, and there's no real difference,,, either one u pick, its still good...the one u pick is the better one...get it?
installing a heat shield by the filter will make it louder also....i believe injen offered that
