AEM CAI Weld Break
Well it happened to me. I have read the various threads regarding the AEM CAI v1 weld breaking where it connects the intake tube to the side or your car. Last week I was inspecting various fluid levels in my engine bay as I was going on a road trip and noticed mine had broken. I've had the intake for 1.5 years so warranty is void. As I couldn't delay this trip I used the tool that fixes all things---Duct Tape. Can I simply continue to use the duct tape to cover the hole in the intake piping or am I compromising performance?
In case I get a lot of comments saying I need to fix this things how is the weld holding for everyone on the V2? Thanks.

I posted about this on another thread, about both the AEM and Injen CAI cons and pros. You could experience such thing as the bracket breaking the weld leaving crack on the tubing...some ppl experience whisle/hissing and didn't know where it came from..which could also be from a loose filter clamp, or torn filter
Duct taping should work ok as long as you sealed it good enough...u should not experience any performance loss from this... You would have to find a place that welds aluminum to get this fixed.
