Here is a quick video of the car running on 5psi boost. Rodney was on the way to the shop when he encountered a Supercharged Mustang on slicks. The Mustang was heading to Blowby Racing performance shop around the corner from Rodney's shop. Rodney and the guy meet up, and the guy was impressed on how fast the TL-S was. At first he thought the car was all noise then relized the TL was turbocharged. The video is a little shakey due to rodney videoing with one hand. Also here ae some pics from a local car meet in Boca Raton. Enjoy.

^^^lol it was hard to shift as phone in right hand ,just readjusted tune ,so in setting up log on computer ,holding phone ,Tring to shift ect ,but I did eventually put phone down and got a good run in ,the auto is appearing to be very quick with minimal power ,is say we are at 320-340 whp tops right now ,keeping the power conservative as the Tl is going in for a heart transplant to withstand 500+ whp in a few weeks ..

For a complete custom turbo setup it will cost you anywhere between 7-10 thousand. Rodney would be up to the challenge but he will need your car to fabricate the turbo setup. Once I've completed all my engine upgrades, I'll be close to 11-12 thousand.

Awesome build dude! would love to see the end result when everything is running smoothly. Are you gonna go through with swapping in a 6 speed? or keeping the Auto Tranny and beefing it up some more? I have the same car and would love to keep it automatic due to the excessive traffic here in Miami

The car is up and running with little to no issues. I'm going to keep the Auto tranny in for the time being. We are still looking for someone to address the tranny which Rodney may have found someone willing to take on the task. As for the turbo kit, I'm running just under 6 psi of boost until I upgrade the rods, pistons, valvetrain, and cams. Car is scheduled for a transplant next month. Also, future project coming up...I'm buying a seperate type s motor and Rodney is going to see if we can stroke it to 4.0. IF so, this new motor will be going into my TL-S for testing with a turbo application.
I took the car to a 1/8 mile drag strip. Ran 8.967 at 83.09MPH and 9.026 at 83.54MPH. Not bad for a car running on 19's front and 20's rear.

This was my first time running on a track, with that said, Rodney gave me some pointers. The first run I had one foot on the brake and the other on the gas reving to 2000RPM. Once the last yellow light dissappread, I realeased the brake and floored it. the car was in D. reaction time .677 60' 2.382 1/8 mile 8.967 83.09mph. First run was clean with some wheel spin.
The second run I had one foot on the brake. Once the last yellow came on, I floored it. The car was in M. R/T .186, 60' 2.393 1/8 mile 9.026 83.54mph. Second run wheel spin from first to second and some wheel spin from second to third. Also the car got a little side ways from first to second but once it hooked, it straighted out and was gone.

Starting tree as follows:
yellow
yellow
yellow
green

Your 60 foot is better then mine but overall its still pretty bad for us. It should be at least 2.0 or lower IMO. Of course stickier tires will help. I know rodney had the 2 step working a while back on your car. Why didnt you guys use it? You time would be so much better.

You cant powerbrake these cars so our launch sucks. All hail the 2 step

I didn't know Rodney had the 2 step working in my car. I'll find out a see what going on with it. I'll be going to the track next month with a different wheel setup and a more aggressive tune and maybe a little more boost (8psi). I'm going with lighter rims. Volk TE37...

Just a quick update, I’m in the process of prioritizing the V2 TL-S turbo project. There are a lot of parts needed to be ordered…I’m talking about roughly $6000-$7000 dollars worth of upgrades. Custom Pistons, Rods, Cams, Valve-train, fuel return system, torque converter, SS lines, new radiator, oil cooler, modified lip kit, 3’ exhaust, a custom hood with either CF EVO scoops and vents or CF GTR scoops and vent, new 19’ Volks, ect... I want to get all parts purchased and on hand before the car under goes surgery. I’m hoping to get the car into the shop by JAN sometime. With the holidays around the corner, I’ve had to adjust my budget which keeps moving the date back.
The end product will completely give the TL-S a custom aggressive street look while keeping within the elegant style of the TL. As for the engine upgrades, the performance we expect to gain will be second to none and able to surpass performance vehicles within its class and either maintain or compete against higher classes. Rodney and I have a lot of expectations for this project and want to deliver a superior one of a kind custom TL-S. I appreciate and encourage the support. Thanks.

No worries on the pics, we will ensure the community is updated. Also, I need the Acurazine community to chime in on hood scoop and vent idea's. I'm either going to go with the EVO or GTR scoops and vents. If you have any other ideas, please feel free to comment. The CF EVO 10 scoops are three peices, 1 rear intake centerline scoop with 2 forward exit vents. The CF GTR scoops are 2 peices, 2 rear intake scoops right and left of centerline with 2 E90 mid-line exit vents right and left of centerline. The exit vents and scoops are CF and be flush with hood. We are looking at either a CF hood or modifying the OEM hood. I'll add pics later today....

i believe villa~~ with the track TL thread cut some nice scoops into his hood. I plan to duplicate. the underside of the hood has "stencils" on where he cut. HE cut vents right over the IM. and there is a "stencil" which sits right above where the turbo would sit. GL. Ill look for pics in the mean time.

Please read the first 6 pages (or so) of the Ultimate Cooling Mod thread. Even if you dismiss the Ultimate Cooling Mod, still read the thread because the thread contains a great discussion about hood venting.

Good stuff on the cooling MOD...I'll shoot you a PM if I have questions and will run some idea's by you and get your advise. This weekend i'm going to outline and finalize how and what I will be doing to address the heat in the engine bay.

LOL,...I was pulling for you though. I just can't believe that there is nothing out there that addresses the trans. It's a shame, no one wants to build a better trans for the A/T crew. You headed back home or what???

yea i know. It is a little sad but i always knew the auto would never be able to handle the power that the built motor could put out. For a long time I knew the swap would happen eventually. I figured it would be good at 450whp and when I wanted to go higher a swap would be needed

Going home tonight but Ill be back soon

I don't know if Rodney from J&R is still doing it but here is his Email.

tl20046speed@yahoo.com
Other than Rodney you can wait for someone to sell a turbo kit on the black market or go the remote mount route. There is a thread about someone doing one here in the performance section.
