6MT 1/4 Mile Thread.
Track was slow. Not prepped, no grip.
I've got almost the same mods as Petergnuyen504 and ran the same day/track Eric did - 14.4 here too.
If we were at Rockingham, both accratien and I would've/should've run 14.1's.
Alex did a great job to run the time he did un-modded.
^^ Having the same mods as someone doesnt mean you can match his time. Besides you still need precat deletes, a catback exhaust, and the test pipe installed to match his. Those mods would def help you get better times.
I didn't expect to match his time - I figured 14.1x - accounting, at least in part, for the differences. Also, not sure when he posted that time that he had the Pre-Cat deletes - could be wrong on that though; I'd have to look at the thread.
Consider this:
Last year in March and similar conditions (low 60's, dry) with Springs, TB Spacer, mudest weight reduction and stock MXM4's I ran 14.37 @ 97 mph. At Rockingham.
This year, with the mods in my sig, plus similar weight reduction, I ran 14.44 @ 98.x mph.
I will not accept that those mods made me slower. Track was slow - I was there. NOBODY was getting hooked up. 14.2x should be easy; 14.1x realistically possible.

Jim if you're looking to do a better time, Rockingham will be open on sunday the 15th i think. Phantasm streetwars. You should go there and see how you do on that track.
no, I used Gtech Pro SS, it was 35 degree in the morning.
current perf mods I have is ATLP race pipe, ATLP J-pipe, Fujita CAI, UR Underdrive Pulley, Greddy Evo II catback.
I was very impressed about the 1/4 mile time and trap speed I got, it's hard to believe but that's what I got on my gtech pro ss.
I ran on highway 76 East.
I felt faster than this one the other day with traction off, but the result I posted is with traction on.

OK....
10.6 @ 114mph on the G-Timer.

Dude....those things are damn near worthless. I have one myself.
Excellent!
This is the first time i've seen that post. It has everything listed out in a well organized fashion. Donald did some good work with that post.
Thanks for posting that.
Here is a copy/pasted post I made after taking my bone stock TL-S 5AT to the track, this is posted in the "Quarter mile compilation" thread in the racing section. Post #101
One of my friends that manages the speed shop where I buy the parts for my Z06 had a private lane at the local drag strip yesterday. I had to be somewhere early afternoon so I decided against bringing the Z06 since I didnt feel like swapping on the drag radials (not to mention the car is spotless clean in the garage) so I brought my 2007 TL Type S. The car is a 5AT and it bone stock, I had 1/2 tank of fuel, I didnt remove a thing from the car in terms of weight reduction..... I have a sub box in the trunk, Weathertech all weather rubber mats over the stock mats etc.....
Best pass was:
R/T......797
60'.......2.217
330'.....6.189
1/8th...9.422
mph.....75.85
1000'....12.205
1/4.......14.540
MPH......97.23
I played around with launching the car a bit before going..... I found that stalling the car on the converter resulted in a bog/delay before taking off hard, I found the best result from holding one foot on the brake and the other just off the gas pedal... I simultaneously released the brake and mashed the gas to flash the converter.
The weather conditions were quite good with density altitude running right at the track elevation of around 700' above sea level.
Overall Im a bit dissapointed in the performance of the car, it leaves waaaay too soft despite trapping decent MPH. The auto in this car really blows for any type of racing (quite nice for daily commuting though)..... way too much torque management type of tuning. Im sure a good tuning program or some mods that pick up on low end torque (such as a UD pulley and maybe a J-pipe) would help a ton. I also think a little wheel spin off the line may have helped get the rpm's up on the launch. This track is notorious for being very well prepped (I have gotten as good as 1.75 60' times on regular street tires with my previous vette and as good as 1.80 with my current one) so there was no chance is being able to spin the tires with this car making the power it does.
Before anyone comments on why didnt I just get a 6MT...... I use this car for work, I take clients out, drive in downtown Chicago traffic, multi task etc... I also have a better half who does not care to drive a manual so when I am driving the Hummer she needs a car with an auto to drive so a 6MT wasnt an option even though I strongly considered it.

had a good laugh, lol.

I never dynoed my car so i dont know the hp, but i went to the the track this wednesday and friday and the fastest i was able to run was 14.374 @97.63 my 60 foot was 2.236. i figure i get my 60 foot down and ill get better numbers right? thats how it should work, but not for me, on one run my 60 foot was 2.192 and i ran 14.403. i guess i just gotta keep going to the track
mods: Atlp exhaust, Atlp race pipe, Atlp j-pipe, R-v6 pre cats, Aem cai, tb spacer, ur crank pulley, IM gaskets, and dropped on tein ss.
peternyugen504 (sp?) ran 14.02 @ 101.77 with similar mods. Same car TL-S, 5AT.

Sorry bro but would you or anyone else care to explain what GTECH PRO SS is ?

the only thing that is not true is the ebay electric supercharger, it was a joke, its actually a vortec supercharger, why dont u guys come down to Imstar at MIR, I'll be running my NSX in the street stock class, anyone else running

OBX headers on an 04 TL??? WTF. They only made those for second gens and they suck in quality and performance. Even without the E charger doubt that s2k will break 12.5 unless there was some sort of power adder.
luda your in richmond Va come up and see me run 12.7 or faster with just a 75shot at imstar
cb169 sold the Cl-S6 to me since then its gone 12.9street tire and 13.4 all-motor Street tire. all with 2.1-2.2 60ft so I know for sure it will do 13.0-13.1 on drag radials ALL-MOTOR!!!! 3.2L
well heres the video of his TL that he only had for 1 week LOL and it ran 13.7
www.Chrisr-photography.com click misc videos then look for a silver TL
