3G TL-P 5AT to 6MT conversion?

Has anyone tried this yet? what exactly are all the parts i need and cost estimate? can i use either a type-s tranny or a base 6mt tranny?

I searched around cant find anything, but thats expected. Be more simple to sell and buy a new TL, but thats not one of my options right now.

I'm thinking about actually going through with this as the 5at transmission makes the car awfully slow.

THANKS. any help will be appreciated. If no has tried this yet, i'd be glad to be the first.

"Sell your AT and buy an MT" is the advice I heard a lot back then. I think the cost of money and time involved in the swap trump trading your AT in for an MT. It's probably the same now.

No one's done it. Several have sold their cars and then bought new ones. There was a thread with a good discussion on it a while back; all of the parts needed were listed in it.

put the money into the turbo setup and you will be dollars ahead and much quicker. gearing in the Auto will be nice with the turbo's torque

Here is a 2G conversion.

fsttyms1's 6 Speed conversion (click here)

I agree with the others. Just go to the dealer and ask about trading-in your 5AT and get a used 6MT TL.

a good quality manual trans will run you $2k... I bet you could find a dealer that will trade the auto for a manual flat out

not worth it AT ALL... parts and labor your looking at a minimum of 5-6k like everyone else says, trade it in for a 6MT
